Worthing
It gave me a certain sense of pride when Worthing took over from Eastbourne as the country's oldest town.

Is that as in having the oldest average of the population. The best thing about Worthing was always that it was fairly cheap to buy a house there in comparison to the rest of West Sussex, possibly down to the number of properties disposed of by executors sales.

Race, I used to live in Hedge End. Southampton's not a bad place at all, but you really should take this chance to move to sunny Hove! Guy could even get a Grubbs subscription and get to know a real burger :)

If I ever had to move again cos of his job there are only 2 other counties I'd consider living in, and Sussex would be one of them!! Where as he would live anywhere in the country for the opportunity to get to know a real burger!

How has he taken the news that McDonalds are closing down branches?

I hope you haven't let him get depressed! We need him on top form :)

In addition to West Sussex I have now lived in Buckinghamshire, London, Kent, Avon, Berkshire and Gloucestershire. Have to say that Gloucestershire is the best as it reminds me in many ways of West Sussex, however it is far cheaper to live here.

Went to Chichester on Saturday. Dear god it was awful. the town centre was dire. Might as well gone to Haywards Heath.

The town centre in Chi is fantastic compared to Brighton and its all pedestrian. Some great little shops and very few chavs/big issue sellers/druggies/etc.

You may have to age another 10 - 20 years to see it that way though

Am a resident of Worthing but as I'm now near Bromley a move is on the cards. Bromley is okay and far enough away from Croydon and vastly superior to Worthing. I have yet to see a sports shop in Bromley selling P*l*c* shirts too.

Living In a Box
Downsized back to Shoreham from Birmingham around 12 years ago.

Junior is actually a Brummie and hates being reminded :lolol: :lolol:

The only real issue is I am certain we would have had a far bigger house in Birmingham than here but I do prefer Shoreham by a mile.

I doubt we will move again unles we achieve our ambition of retiring abroad.

Simply not a good enough reason. Their McDonalds are as bland as ours.
