agree with Bozza.

I think we just have to suffer the spammers and the trolls as a mark of the board's success and rely on the mods to act on reports (if appropriate) reasonably quickly.

I'm not actually pissed with the trolls at all - it's my failing to get the humour and rising to the bait that really gets me.

I like Bozza's 1,2 plan. I don't know if this is because I've been to so many message boards, or what, but I've developed the ability to ignore threads/posts that don't interest me.

To be honest there are always threads on here I have no interest in (cricket ones, "who do you think we should/could sign", betting odds, "check out my blog" - and I imagine people aren't interested in some of the ones I start, either). Rather than post in them telling everyone it's a shit thread, or coming up with ways to ensure threads like this aren't started, or suggesting separate sections, I just ignore.

There are exceptions, but generally I figure the wide range of people that use this site have their own range of interests, and who am I to decide what's worthy, just because I'm not interested in something?

Obviously spam is a annoying, but I don't think this thread was started because of spam, and I think the current system for dealing with spam works well enough.
