I used to ride a lot and have had quite a few over the years, but now veiw them as noise machines.
May be it is because now I live in a hills country back water.
I plug my ears when they roar past and curse the bloody row they make.
So damned noisey !!

Nice! 'Grats to her :).

Hadn't seen that they've brought the "z" back. My first bike was a 1983 Kawasaki z250 according to the rego documents, but it'd been through a few owners before me and I'm pretty sure a lot of the parts had been replaced over the years with bits from other model years. 1995, so it was 12 years old by the time I got my hands on it and it showed. Nifty little bike, though - easy to ride, good handler. It chewed up its crankshaft bearings just outside Bathurst later that year (we lived in Canberra at the time) and I had to finish the trip home wedged into my dad's sidecar with my brother. At which point we switched to the car, with trailer, and went back to pick it up.

Couple of days later my dad came home with the workshop manual for the bike and told me to let him know when I'd figured out what was wrong with it (he knew already). Set me up for a few years of self-maintaining that bike and thus minimal maintenance costs.

That z125 looks a good bit more complicated though!

Seems to be compulsory in Newhaven for any motorcyclists riding through to have a very loud exhaust.

Awesome. Congrats to your daughter.

Learner legal 125’s are so much better looking these days.
They certainly are. I am really impressed with the quality of it. Kawasaki make some great bikes. If she decides to do her test later, it probably it will not lose much value either, if she trades it in for a bigger bike.

Puch Maxi and Bultaco Sherpa? Possibly but not certain.
No fails on either.
Seminal motorcycles.
Two wheels =two wheels.
Mobylette (Spanish one) and a Bultaco 250, could have been a Sherpa I guess. Again in Spain

Nice, always liked those bigger Tigers.

Am getting my Thunderace repaired this month - Carbs having sonic bath ( 4 big Mikuni's) and MOT etc - 16.5 Yr old son wants to get into biking, so be good to have mine back to ride out with him.. That z125 looked good.. (but not as good as my old RG140 Stage 2 Bob Farnham with Skoal Bandit livery..!)

It seems to be compulsory for teenagers to have chinese 4 stroke 125's, remove exhaust and put a watneys party 7 can on instead.
They are incredibly loud. They do not sound good.

we use to get pulled regularly in the 80's on lambrettas, even with completely legal exhausts.
