Still one of my favourites, and I can recall watching this for the first time when I was 12, on a large screen with surround sound, and literally being paralysed with fear for a good 10 minutes after this scene in particular:

As a kid, hammer film - circus of horrors.

After 45 years I still get flashbacks of that film. The other one was the sand pipers with Steve McQueen about the boxer revolution.

Great shout, but have you seen the original Japanese version? I saw it on FilmFour back in the day when you had to pay for it and they'd actually show good films. I couldn't finish it, I was a bag of nerves.

The Exorcist.

Last time I watched it stoned and even though I'd seen it twice before, it still scared the living shit out of me. Very disturbing film especially the bit when writing appeared on the girl's body to help her.
