Saw Quo Vardis at the Brighton Centre many moons ago and the dickhead lead singer had long thin blonde hair. Walked on very carefully for the first number which became apparent when, with a flick of his head, about two containers worth of 'Old Spice' talc flew from his hair. I can imagine the effect he was looking for but it didn't work.

Also, Saxon. Lead singer was, I think, Biff Byford (made up surely). He stood at the front of the stage, foot on a speaker and with a fan at his feet blowing his long thin locks behind him. It was difficult to stay in the hall let alone enjoy the concert with such a moronic image on stage.

(Queen are still the best band I ever saw at the Centre)

Queen were one of the best live bands ever......period.

Let's have a heated Friday afternoon debate/poll. Who in your opinion is the most pompous rock group going? It's a crowded field, I know, but there has to be a winner out there.

The Michael Schenker Group. were pretty pompous, or should I say Michael Schenker was.

Pompous is fine - Rainbow Rising still gets a regular airing in this house - but pretentious is not. U2 and Coldplay are bloody awful in that respect.
