Probably only one choice for most people, that being the Play-off drams of a few years back, but i've got a couple of reasons to not pick that game.

Firstly, i wasn't there as I couldn't get a ticket...a Withdean sell out. It actually wasn't that bad as the heavens opened shortly before kick off, on what had been a sunny day, sothose that were there suffered a soaking and an appaling display right up until that thrilling finale which wiped the memory of what had been endured before. I watchedf the game in the packed Font & Firking & it was firking mayhem at the end!

No, I have to choose a 0-0 draw on a dull December 1967 but, for me, it was my 1st ever Albion game. My sister took me and we watched from the north stand. It was so exciting, quewing to get in, climbing those steps and entering into the north from the top.. The pitch was laid out like a green carpet, beautifully marked out. The floodlights were on and gave it that special 'glow'.

Swindon were one of the better teams and would win promotion the following season and this team would also beat the mighty Arsenal at Wembly to win the League Cup as a 3rd Div side, imagine that now? They also had their star man, Don Rogers a legend for Swindon despite having a spell at Smelhurst.

To me it was a fast, exciting & hardfought draw, but maybe that's just my 1st match excitement. Still, it was a 0-0 draw that was enough to get me hooked.

Swindon have often been difficult opponents. It's strange to have seen them as our paths have crossed, often one club is doing well as the other is on the way down. here's hoping for a hard fought Albion win!:ascarf:

2-2 draw in 1966. First game of the season, came from behind with a soft penalty.

The play-off semi is about the most memorable game I've ever attended in terms of sheer drama. Tho another one etched firmly in the mid is the 0-0 where we clinched the double championes in 2001/2002 season, Peter Taylor's last home game in charge, and an INSANELY dull game. This was the absolute HEIGHT of the feverish rush for Withdean tickets, the Albion ticjkets were completely sold out, and gloucesterseagull had on the morning of the match FOURTEEN tickets for the game spread out on me lounge floor. They were all for the Swindon end, we had to memorise catch-you-out questions like name of Swindon's assistant manager and endure GAY chants of 'West Country Tra-La-La' throughout. Counting the minutes down as the results came in, then all on the running track at the end. Particularly remember Gong giving OGH a hearty congratulatory slap on the back, completely oblivious to the fact that the bloke was wobbling around on crutches

Great days at Withdean

3-0 defeat at the goldstone for my 8th birthday in 95/96 - we were in the executive lounge for my birthday treat, and afterwards i remember brushing shoulders with such heroes as phil andrews and the fox brothers

Its the 4-0 home victory in 77 or 76 ? when Wardy beat the whole of their defence before going back and beating them all again, then slotting home. Probably the best I ever saw the maestro play in netting that brace.

Two great days at Withdean against Swindon. Mainly the Play Off semi final, which is still probably the most exciting footballing experience I have ever had - walking out of the ground and just seeing Virgo put it in, running back up to the stands shouting my head off! We were pretty poor that match but it didn't matter - everything that football should be! And it was pissing it down as well.

Also The 0-0 draw which saw us win Division 2. I seem to remember it being a dire match, probably because of the nerves (if we won we were champions), but a 0-0 draw was enough, and it was quite a unique experience having a whole stadium stay after the end of the match waiting for the Brentford result.
