I used to shake hands with Tommy Farr, regularly, he owned a Pub near Brighton Station, I delivered his newspapers and on Saturday evening had to go to his office to collect the money, he always gave me a 10 shilling note which was some tip in those days.

On the sports side, I was a spectator marshal at the Goodwood Festival of Speed for about three years on the trot in the early 2000s and there was always drinks for the contestants and marshalls afterwards. I met Stirling Moss, Phil Hill, Jack Brabham and Lord March himself. I also met and shook hands with some of the Williams pit crew and held the steering wheel of that years Formula 1 car. Surely that counts as shaking hands with the car?

I've held the European Cup.

The most famous probably Ken Livingstone, surprisingly very charismatic. The nicest famous/ish person I've met is Maggie Philbin, a real charmer.

I've met Magiie Philbin too and yes she is was charming

The current Mayor of Brighton, what a great bloke he is.

Or Michael Morpurgo, famed Childrens writer.

I don't get out much really.

Ric Flair - Mr Wrestling/God

A bit off topic but......

I was in LA early this year when I was walking Downtown and walked through a open movie set. There were loads of police but they let public walk through as the whole area seemed deserted. I slowly walked through having a right nosey around and I saw Jackie Chan.

I wasn't able to shake his hand as he was working but I was still star struck to say the least. I walked on anyway and at the end of the street with only a few people around I see Will Smith talking to someone. I waited for a minute and hoped I could have a chat with him unfortunately this body guard came up to me and said "can I help you?" I replied I just want to say hi to Will Smith! He said no and told me where to go!

Perfect chance to meet someone famous with noone around. I was gutted!

I have just spat my cornflakes over my screen! You honestly had dinner with the Cash's? i never swear but f*ck me! I absolutely adore them both and my greatest regret is never going to Glasto when he played there in '94. This is the winner right here. June Carter Cash, the daughter of country music and Johnny (with Perkins and Grant) who back in '54 played Hey Porter, the same recording that can be heard on Radio today and followed to be an star, fallen star, star again.

I am dumdstruck. You sir get one of these

Yes sir,

the wifes mother and step farther have connections, and they arranged it for us as they know I adore Mr Johnny Cash who is and has been my hero since the age of about 7 when we were over visting her family. I met Eminem and Neil Diamnond through them aswell, but was less impressed with them, they were ok. The wifes best friend is married to philip anselmo who is best mates with Hank 111 so that was one road trip that was intresting. But Johnny was a humble, honest, engaging, gentleman R.I.P.
