My wife was asked on a date by Kevin Rowland. She met him at a party and a few days later he visited the shop she owned at the time. She wasn’t there but he left a post-it note with his details. She still has this note.
Some friends of ours from Northampton met Kevin Rowland in Brighton and he invited them for Pizza in East Street. When they'd eaten he got them to do a runner.

I WOULD have spent the day playing cricket with Mick Jagger had a tour to France been two weeks before. He was president of one of the teams we played. So it will have to be..

Norman Cook and Hazell Dean both of whom I interviewed whilst at a local radio station, Although the show I did with Doug Sanders of the Lambrettas was my fav.

I was once on a train sat with Nigel Kennedy. I didn't really know him but Villa fans kept coming up to him. We chatted all the way back to London and he bought me a beer. Lovely chap.

On the way back from an Albion match decades ago, I was surrounded by the Manchester United youth team on their way to London. I struck up a two hour conversation with one of them who was about 17/18 and extremely articulate for their age. It turned out to be Gary Neville. Another lad, just as unfamous at the time, had come on as a substitute against Albion not long previously, gone into the wrong position and it led to us scoring. We took the piss out of him. His name was David Beckham.

And, as previously mentioned I have no doubt - Jonny Marr - at Warwick services. My mate got his autograph on a KFC receipt.

Three years ago, I mentioned this in reply to said mate, to a Facebook post he’d made (on an ‘Electronic’ page). Two days ago, I got this ‘like’ on my three-year old facebook comment.

Not as amusing as @BN9 BHA 's quip.

My story is true and I genuinely hadn't clocked the irony wrt the band name.

My pals were two young women, and I have to report that they were deep(pan)ly unimpressed by Kevin's behaviour.

Uri Gueller and Geoff Hurst. I'd put them about equal?

Leslie Judd of Blue Peter who signed her autograph on my hand when I worked in a petrol station in Billingshurst some 50 odd years ago. It's very faded now,
Chris Evans and his new (Russian ?) wife when they came to start the 12 hour lawnmower race maybe 15 years ago.
Dave Beasant at Blackbushe car auctions, lovely bloke.

I think you mean Deliluh? (For once I’m not being a padant!)

I used to know Julius from this band as he worked in the coffee shop i used to visit every day. I saw him support Squid just after Covid.

I meet many people who are in bands; literally part of the territory of where I have lived my life and the interest I have, and often check them out of politeness, but was really blown away by Deliluh. So much so I own a couple of vinyls of theirs.
Yes, Deliluh, think a victim of Autocorrect here, fantastic band.

As an employee, I met and chatted with Larry Ellison (the bloke that owns Oracle - the database/internet company), twice in fact. Once in San Francisco, once in Reading.
I doubt he remembers me, and not just because I don't work there any more.. :(

Fontaines DC, only spoken to Grian and the Drummer, both pretty sound, the drummer was really into his music, really in depth conversation with him.
My experience with Fontaines was standing sidestage next to them at Victorious watching RB - the increasingly stressed side of stage monitors guy kept asking them to put their cigarettes out as they had them right next to a whole load of electrical equipment, one (I think unintentionally) flicked ash onto his desk at one point also. They refused/ignored him. The singer was doing a Liam Gallagher style swagger as well which I just found a bit annoying, he may well usually be a nice bloke for all I know.

However, these sorts of things are always mildly pointless in terms of judging someone's character, not worth doing based on a 20 minute interaction really unless they're extremely nice/awful.

West is BEST
Tom Hardy - maniacal

Brad Pitt - considered

Julian Glover - luvvie

John Nettles - bully

Ray Mears - very interesting, jolly.

Charlize Theron - pleasant

Hugh Grant - moody and irritable

Sir Ranulph fiennes - hospitable and interested

Michael Morpurgo - despondent, he was picking up a discarded War Horse program in the foyer and had a look about him like he’d just found his favourite teddy bear in a muddy puddle.

Several of the Dr Who’s of recent years - fine

Lee Mack - distracted, he was cleaning out his flooded basement

And some others

I was at that gig funnily enough, probably one of the best Fontaines shows I've seen that day with the crowd. Think it got stopped at one point, was manical.

Yeah they were really good and as you say the crowd was into it.
