Its imported from Italy. Unlike most 'foreign' beers that are brewed in the UK under license. Makes a big difference to the price.
YEAH,massive after all the man at Harveys told me during our tour that it costs 12.5p a pint to brew ousemuck,the rest is made up with Harveys profit, distribution cost(0.7p a pint on average)beer tax, V.A.T.(only higher than beer tax because the vendor sets his price and VAT is dependant on vendor greed) profit for the pub landlord/chain,profit for the pub Tenant.
Sure the shipping cost of a container of beer casks makes a lot of difference to that prime cost of 12.5p
