Tim Sherwood for Coventry, don't think he even got on the pitch, if I remember rightly Steve Staunton was poor too - I think our very own Whing was with them at that time although don't know if he was in the squad??

Not sure how Yakubu can be considered a disappointment - it was his Portsmouth debut i believe, or certainly one of his first few appearances. He came off the bench in the second half and hit the post from 25 yards with his first touch, from what i can remember! Perhaps I imagined it though....

Teddy Sheringham - definitely a class act, but didn't do too much at Withdean.

Similarly, Paul Ince.

Karl Hawley from Carlisle last year was useless. Gotta concur with Taribo West.
Sean Thornton's always been crap against us. Plus any Leeds player going. (except Beckford)
OOOOH and Rhys Weston when he signed for Cardiff for over a million and they played us and he scored an own goal in the away game and gave the ball away for our goal in the home game. LEG-END!

another player i was disappointed by was JASON KOUMAS playing for tranmere, however i think they played him on the left wing against us and i can remember him being pretty ineffective considering he was one of the best players in that division

I was gonna go for him. That was a midweek and i remember shitting myself about him. He played on the wing and was actually stood on the touchline most of the game. It was very foggy i seem to recall and i don't think he touched the ball.

got to be taribo west - a mainstay at the back for nigeria, veteran of international tournaments, a man who had been one of the best players in serie a......and then he got destroyed by robinson

i remember yakubu being quite impressive - roberts made about two quality saves to keep him from a debut goal

He was a world class moaner though. If players progressed on the basis of their ability to complain at/to the ref, he'd be playing for Barcelona by now, would have several caps to his name and a fat contract advertising moaning-related products to gullible fans.

Yeah, he'd make a good partnership with the superior moaner Robbie Keane *moan moan moan moan moan* prick

Was it Lee Hughes who came on for Coventry in the first home match of the season we started under Martin Hinselwood? I seem to remember they'd just spent big on him, and he came on a looked crap. I remember the Brighton fans singin "What a waste of money", Coventry fans response was "at least we've got the money!".
