Most boring (and unpleasant to drive) stretch of country road in Sussex

I have walked and cycled around there and yes it is a beautiful area. The road though does have some right shite along the eastern side and I guess my problem is I enjoyed the old road through Rodmell a lot more.

There are plans to put a cycle path on the Rodmell road ( C7).
It's a shame the incinerator can be seen from that road, I feel sorry for the residents of Piddinghoe, the incinerator looks really close when in that village.

A22 from Uckfield going south is featureless. I like the A259 over Exceat Bridge and onwards to Birling Gap and Beachy Head.

Worst? The A272 between Buck Barn and Billingshurst. Scenic, but the traffic consists entirely of old Fiats doing 25mph and fleet cars who want to do 75mph.

It's such a pot luck road, that stretch - i've made incredibly good time down there on some days and on others i've had birthdays, civilisations have raised and crumbled in the time it takes to get into Billingshurst. It doesn't help that you get the idiots who panic when they get to Coolham Crossroads.

Some interesting responses. If I had to pick a favourite road it would probably be the B2139 from Whiteways Lodge Roundabout (the A29) east to Storrington. Running a close second would be the roads across the Downs from Ditchling Beacon to the A27 and from Poynings to the A27.
