i think it is more to do with the fact the club has never asked

the senior cup matches are proof of it. every club hopes to draw the albion reserves, as it means a bigger crowd, more money taken at the gate, and especially in the bar and kitchens. i know that at hassocks this year we made a significant amount, and all of that helps to keep the club running and improving our facilities, with is only a good thing for football in the county

there was talk when the club first returned to brighton about taking the reserves "on the road", and playing at different grounds so different parts of the county got to see the team. quite why this never materalised is anyones guess
