Wilder needs to take some responsibility for that tackle. But he doesn't. This could get him into trouble. Holgate will already be in trouble of course, but Wilder needs to take ownership of it.

It's an insult to call that a "tackle". If you watch the video focusing solely Holgate and the ball, he had no eyes or intention on winning the ball. Instead he set out to end a player's match. A vile challenge in any era.

I wonder if Wilder kind of caused the violence by raising the temperature before and after games with the insinuations of cheats and injustices?

For me that’s a more worrying comment than from Wilder. A player has nearly crippled another and he comes out with that tripe

Interesting that the two clubs who essentially cakewalked the Championship last season have been shown up this season to be bang average at best, and pretty dire at worst. Luton, who scrambled up via the play offs look a far better PL outfit!

Which is quite a feat as he’s only played 11 PL games in the last 2 seasons.

Yes, the Wilder clip shown earlier in this thread is aimed at the Sheffield United audience, and he's trying to protect his player, in public at least. Bit futile, but understandable, TBH, but I bet he wasn't so kindly disposed to Holgate in the privacy of the dressing room!
The captain's comments are, as you say, rather more worryingly ridiculous.
