I'm going to buck the trend and say it's not as simple as that. If a rich owner comes in and agrees to underwrite the cost of new signings, but then changes his mind a year later, what are the fans meant to do.

It's a bit like what that c**t ar**er did to us, loan us £300 grand and then take interest and penalty payments when the club (that he was chairman of :shootself) couldn't pay it back. I completely lay the blame with FIFA, UEFA , FA and the Premier league for this mess. If they had proper rules in place to stop crooked owners coming in and chucking money about like there's no tomorrow, and then removing their money and leaving everone in the shit, this kind of thing wouldn't happen.

The Germans are quite strict about their clubs finances, the rest of football needs to go the same way.

Maybe with Southend, possibly with Palace but no way with the gobshites of Leeds and Pompey.

That is the HMRC, what about the other creditors?

I think, but I may be wrong (it has been known :dunce:) that 75% of creditors have to agree.

And presumably that means people who are owed 75% of total debt rather than just 3 out of 4 creditors.

Many if not most comnmercial creditors will cut their losses and settle for something rather than nothing, which is pretty much what they will get if the club folds but I'm not so sure about HMR&C.

It seems to me that they are getting pretty pissed off with football clubs getting themselves in a mess and only having to pay a pretty small part of it back before they can then regroup and start all over again. I suspect that one day soon they will make an example of somebody, 'pour encourager les autres' (that is yer actual French).

After all, writing of the whole amount owed would not be a problem for HMR&C as it is not their money and they wouldn't suffer because of it. It's the UK tax payer's money - yours and mine.

Well, yours actually, as I no longer pay UK tax :bigwave:

I wish these ***** would have went bust. It would have been the shot across the bow to get football and its finances in order. Or it would have been just plain comedy. Either way, a win-win!

Exactly - the Palace debt was minor by most standards, and most of it was to the chairman. There are tens of other clubs with more debt, Norwich for one, but are we castigating them.

But don't let that get in the way of certain senile numpties on here who've obviously received a shoeing from a load of Palace 10 year olds.

"We would like to appeal to the FA for us to be given a two goal start in next months FA Cup Final against Chelsea. We feel this is fair, as Chelsea have lots more Internationals in their team than us, and have considerably more financial clout. I am confident our club will fit the criteria for a two-goal start, and this will make the Final a more entertaining spectacle for all, whilst also giving us a genuine chance of some silverware at the end of what has been a challenging season for the club, both on and off the field."

:lolol:

They are a joke aren't they? It's not like they didn't know on the 31st March that there was a possibility however small that they might qualify for Europe, yet they didn't bother. So tough shit as far as i
can see.

But no doubt UEFA will bend over for them, just like the pathetic Premier League already have. I forgot, they have such GREAT FANS, who DESERVE
success, don't they.

Purely on a football principal why should our FA want a team that is in the Championship and have won 6 game to win the cup to represent us in Europe in preferenmce to a side that has played much better over the season to finish well up in the Premiership our top division.

The Cup Winners should be offered this place only if they are playing in the top division.

If by chance 2 Championship sides who get relegated to Div 1 reached the final would it be right to allow either in to Europe?

Pompey are a f***ing discrace and theres no mistake.

They didnt bother selling any players in January then tried to sell em all illegally in Feb after using them to knock us out the cup, they try to wriggle out of everything and are nothing but a bunch of cheats.

Theres been far too few pictures of skate tears on the telly. CNUTS
