I think that it is case of needs must. We have permission for the new stadium, we will not fill it if in div 1 and the banks know that so obtaining the money to build it may be difficult. The board have therefore decided to make the money available to help achieve promotion and thus get the backing to build Falmer.

That was my original thought when I was trying to workout exactly why we have Savage on a months loan ..

does anyone know if the money for Falmer has been promised only if gates or league position improve

And had it occured to you that we're no longer paying huge legal fees to fight for the stadium so we might, just might, have a little more in the pot now ?

Of course I'm just guessing as I don't know the budgets, wages etc just like YOU don't !

That answers the question.

Knight mentioned at the fans forum that the TV money in the Championship will increase significantly next season, and so promotion has become even more imortant.

You ended the question insinuating that the change of manager was the reason for extra funds appearing to be available. In my mind at least, and given your past record of posts on here, that looked like a hidden pop at the board in support of Wilkins.

Prove me wrong about what you know ( or indeed don't know ) then - despite many opportunities to tell us the so called truth, you've never been able to back up any of your accusations. I would suggest, unless you work for the club, that you have no idea what the budget for players, wages etc is. Exactly the same as the rest of us don't. Unless of course you want to enlighten me by posting them on here ?

I didn't ask for her source - just the facts. Just fed up with her continously having a pop at the club in almost every post - even in her posts in Ask the Club. Yes the club isn't perfect but jeez, she needs to start being a supporter rather than a moaner !

I think it was a fair question actually. But possibly it's as simple as being that a football club's budget is very much like one's own budget. You may have approximately the same amount of money coming in, but sometimes you really really want something and you manage to scrimp and save and buy it. Who knows, I don't but don't knock the girl for asking a question.
