I don't believe we did pay 300K for dickinson. As I understand it, it was closer to the 100-150K range initially, and would increase depending on appearances, goals, success. 7 goals and a mid table finish would suggest we didn't quite reach the point where we had to pay 300k for him.

lets wait and see but my guess will be 1 millon and a statment of intent from the lizard

think this is right, if Mr Bloom and Gus want someone they will get him.

We must have a large pot there still with transfers recieved a 10% increase in budget and big earners being binned off

unless

the money isnt there and this is why Gus is stalling on contract

Hope so as he would probably be better than we could afford to buy, who ever it is is unless a youth teamer.

Why?

A young prem player will be a bigger risk than a striker who has already proven they can bang them in at the lower league level... we've also had more experienced prem reserve players who have failed to make the grade in our first team / underwhelmed...

There is also the chance that a good striker that we own will be an investment for a later sale at a profit...

If we are serious about building a team to get up to / stay in the Championship, then we should invest in a perm striker, IMHO...
