Yes

monaco is nice, but horrendously expensive. If you want to go to the main casino, they wont let you into the main tabled in jeans!

San Remo is small, inexpensive and some good roman villa's on the hills

Porto Fino - ok

Genoa - very nice, clean, lovelly food

Nice - shingle beach, pretentious, full of toffee nosed frenchies, bloody expensive. ( where I'm Still Standing - Elton Johns video was filemd)

I've been there. There is a local train which runs between all of those places - very nice it is too, right along the coastline - and on time.

The seafront at Nice is nice, but the city itself is a bit soulless. If it's talent and quality you're for (or looking at) go to the outlying towns and villages along the coast - Cannes, Menton, Fontvielle, Frejus.

Monaco is not necessarily the big rip-off fest people assume it to be, if you know to look in the right places. Stick to the seafront and the main hotels, you pocket will get fried. Look slightly more in town - into Monte Carlo itself - and it's not too bad. Your challenge is to look for the Stade Louis in Monaco. One thing it does not look like from the outside is a football stadium. You'll see what I mean when you get there...

Other towns along this train journey are very pleasant to walk around, especially Ventimiglia over the Italian border.

Have fun.

don't need train, i'm on a CRUISE!

i don't have much time in each port, so going to surrounding towns may be risky....

am i right in thinking the monaco stadium has a car park underneath it or something?

i'm gonna try and go to the genoa stadium aswell

Porto: Fantastic. Be prepared to walk up hills though. Drink lots of port (plenty of free tours available on the other side of the river). Don't swim in the river or sea!

Genoa: Nice port. Avoid walking through the old town in the evenings. Depending on what days of the week you're there, the place can be absolutely dead at night. I was there on a Monday.

so basically you are going on a booze cruize and going to go to football stadiums when you get into port.

Go and see the architecture of Genoa, the churches, the public buildings, the piazzas, the ambiance......

Life is too short to spend your time in football stadiums....go and see King Albert and the family.....walk the F1 course in Monaco ( it will take you about an hour) get a taxi to take you round ( about 3 minutes

:lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: )

Have fun fun fun

When I went to Monaco, it was the week after the Grand Prix, so most of the barriers and advertisement hoardings were still up. The various corners and chicanes and stuff are not that obvious when you're walking until you have actually walked past them - then you'll recognise the course. I know that sounds obivious, but what I mean is you may not be able to so easily plot the course without the barriers. Unless of course they leave them there the whole time.

And, yes, the Stade Louis does have a car park underneath, and luxury flata around it. You will spot it easiest from the western side (it's on the western side of town mind), where the four arches are.

We drove there many years ago and the road that goes down to teh waterfront has the big tunnell under the hotel is brilliant....though you do tend to put your foot down when going through there.

the mrs was yelling " Slow down you stupid bastard" as we were approaching the swimming pool ( where Jenson went off last year)...there is no chicane there so you can really hack it!!!!!
