That was good. Didn't look too far away - and it looked like it jettisoned some people...

how high in the sky is it?

approx 200 miles high

At 18:19, looking south about 45 degrees in the air (halfway between the horizon and looking straight up) you may see an iridium flare which is when a satellite rotates to catch the sun.

Its only a flash and lasts a few seconds but looks quite spectacular if you get to see it.

I've never seen one but am hopeful of seeing it in a minute

Yay! saw it! right in its predicted place and at the right time. Less special than the space station but not bad nonetheless
