I agree with Kinkygerbil's observation and would add that Kuipers didn't really have much to do. Most of West Ham's shots were off target! Close call between Nicolas and Claridge for my MOM

ok i put this question to you:

if roberts had done the same thing then made a few saves would he be called a clown?

answer yes

Honestly ... it was a nice friendly, uncontroversial thread until you came and ruined it ... :nono:

You just like starting fights!

With so many different names being mentioned on this thread it just goes to show how well EVERYBODY played yesterday. My MOM goes to Clarridge though. He came into the game with a lot of expectation on his shoulders and didn't let us down. He chased everything and held the ball up well. Worked tirelesly all game and was so tired at the end that he kept going only on instinct. His experience was so important in a match like yesterdays.

I agree with Kinkygerbil about Kuipers. He did not have anything to do so does not deserve the accolade of MOM. He was up for it but then again so was the rest of the team.

My MOM was Nicholas. The bloke is absolute class. he is so comfortable on the ball and very rarely gives the ball away
Special mention has to go to the back 4 who worked their socks off. Claridge for holding the ball up. Virgs for being a complete pain in the arse to their defence. oatway for being a little terrier in midfield and special mention to Chipinter ( sorry DBS but had to mention this somewhere ) :p Who helped make our midfield actually look like a midfield. God I hope I have not forgotten anyone.
Best performer was us the fans. We made our team feel like we had 20 players on the pitch and we should all take a bow for our efforts :clap2: :clap2:

Did anyone else notice Nicholas giving the rest of the team the "keep calm" hand signals in the 1st half while we were really under the cosh?
Maybe a future captain in the making.:)

I thought he was doing cos the scousers were beating Palarse in a comedy calm down moment:lolol:
Did see him do that Gullet. Like I said he is a star in the making. can't believe he is only in the Cypriot under 21's. If he is not good enough for their first team then MM should go scout them as they must be as good as Brazil

On the ocean wave
Charlie & Chippy back in the middle made a big difference. Dan Harding should concentrate on his distribution a bit more.
He looks more confident playing for England U21s.

Well done to the whole team though.

The whole team were great. Agree with BHA.fatboy - how the hell is Nicolas not in the full Cypriot team? I wouldn't imagine that any of the first team play in such a high league as the Championship!

Special mentions from me go to:

The Albion Fans - we far outsung the quiet WH fans.
Kuipers, Cullip, Hinsh and Butters, Oatway, Chippy, Nicolas and Claridge and of course Mark McGhee! :clap2:

Charlie Oatway for me. Whereas I've often believed he's got a bad press on NSC and have instinctly defended him for that, I'd never thought he could pass as well as he did under pressure as he did yesterday. Completed more passes than even the excellent Nicolas and was the guy invariably making the probing forward balls. He has been a revelation even to someone like me who has long admired his defensive capabilities.

Claridge was very good but did give the ball away too cheaply on a few occasions early on. By the end of the game, though, his fitness shone through and he was dominating the spent West Ham defenders.

I will also give a shout for Reid, who is coming on leaps and bounds.

Tough call for MOM as it was a great team performance (Harding excluded).
Hinsh was superb at the back and made some vital tackles.
Nicolas, Chippy and Oatway all did really well in the middle.
Claridge ran his sock off (literally) and held the ball up superbly well.

Between Hinsh, Nicolas, and Claridge I'll say the Cypriot international.
