Delighted Imps boss Keith Alexander has landed striker Maheta Molango on a year-long loan deal from Championship side Brighton.
Seagulls manager Mark McGhee finally agreed to the switch after Argentinian striker Federico Turienzo agreed personal terms on a proposed move to Brighton yesterday.
The arrival of a new frontman pushes 22-year-old Molango even further down the pecking order at the Withdean Stadium, with as many as five strikers favoured ahead of him.
However, the Swiss-born striker, who had a spell at Spanish side Atletico Madrid, has been a revelation in his trial period with the Imps, scoring four goals in as many outings.
"I don't think Brighton were all that keen when I first said I wanted him on loan," conceded Alexander.
"But my view was that I had made a good offer for the lad.
"Mark McGhee has made it clear Maheta was unlikely to figure for them this season, so he finally allowed him to move.
"Maheta has done well in his short time here. Now he knows he's here for a season, that should help him settle down and we can hopefully see the best of him.
"It's in his hands now to force his way in to our starting line-up."
