New signing Maheta Molango has called for greater belief from Brighton if they are to survive in the Championship.

Summer arrival Molango took just 12 seconds to open his Albion account in Saturday's 3-2 defeat at Reading.

But he insisted Brighton suffered from a lack of belief at the Madejski Stadium.

Molango told the club's website: "We didn't really believe we could beat Reading.

"I think that we had a big opportunity to beat them. The shape was good but the main thing was that we had to believe more.

"We are a young team and we have just come up and we have a lot of work to do."

I like this fella more and more. He was constantly gee-ing the Albion fans up on Saturday, and seems to have a really positive attitude. His first touch let him down a few times, but he ran his socks off all afternoon and was a real thorn in their side. Can't wait to see him lining up with Leon, lets hope they can hit it off.

Totally agree. I LOVE IT when players try to get the crowd going, it shows passion. In fact, i really dont know why more players dont do it. It gets the crowd on your side, picks them up if they've gone a bit quiet, and the more noise we make the better eh?

Victor Bhanerjee's notebook
I remember Garry Nelson away at Southend many years ago.

Whilsting waiting for a corner (ours) to be taken he stepped behind the goal clenched his fist and said something along the lines of 'C'mon lads lets raise the roof'.

Classic

Anyone else remember this?

Did I say Molango was going to be the next Pele then ?
I was merely pointing out that I enjoyed seeing one of the new boys openly showing some enthusiasm and gee-ing the crowd up.
You instead choose to pour cold water on it and come out with a Noades-esq comment about whether he'll fancy it in the winter.

Get over yerself for christs sake.

Don't call Easy 10 a twat you COCK KNOCKER.

I was also slightly aroused (if that's the right word) by Molango's antics on Saturday.

It made the difference in the play-off final when Mayo, Kuipers and Hinshelwood ran down to us, that's reason enough for me.

You can tell why this bloke is call woking one.

No one else wants to listen to his miserable moaning.

I loved Maheta geeing the crowd up, it's also right that the team have got to believe they can win or else why bother setting foot on the field.
