Liked a BHAFC Instagram post 12 minutes ago - has to be a good sign that all is still looking good...

Charlotte Fitch (oh Charlotte) liked one of my facebook photos back in the day, but that didn't mean she wanted to get into bed with me

Come on Albion, get this over the line

Moises Caicedo?

Moder isn’t a similar midfielder to Stephens.

Although he has played regularly in all three central midfield positions (attacking, central, defensive), he does seem to have settled in defensive midfield recently which is where Stephens thrived.

The difference to Stephens could be the quality of passing and shooting Moder displays (as well as the obvious height advantage). Moder has 7 goals and 7 assists from his 28 games as defensive midfielder, if he can translate those stats to the Premier League as well as playing the Stephens role in a slightly more progressive and mobile fashion, we’ll have a player on our hands. Competition for a starting place in our central midfield is profound, you’d like to think he’d be ahead of White quite soon though.

Moder going to be shitehouse then?

ha, my comment was very tongue in cheek.

I think the club has made it quite clear that we are moving away from a "Stephens" type of player in favour for the younger quicker models who are encouraged to roam more. Not even White is playing that same "protector" role when he is a CDM.

Both Caicedo and Moder look completely different to anything that we have/had. I am excited about both of them. Now just to have a starting XI with more than one out and out CM...

Yeah exactly. They're both box to box midfielders.
It makes no sense to have an out and out DM, especially if we mostly play 3 at the back. Better the wing backs dropping back to make a 5 than the DM dropping back in to an already congested central postion.
Everyone loves energy and dynamism from midfield, especially if there is also a goal threat, and both can give the ball a serious ping.
Super, super excited about both these boys. Genuinely two of the more exciting prospects in world football.

I can't agree with you. For two reasons

We've conceded two goals recently, (against Arsenal and Shedd Utd) to the counter attack where a specialist DM would have been in position to stop the pass to the player the ball was cut back to

Secondly, Lamptey and March are serious attacking threats and the only width in our team. A specialist DM, with a brief to not get caught the wrong side of the ball, gives them more cover to attack fearlessly. The LCB or LCB can shuffle across and cover where needed

The Sheff Utd goal had nothing to do with a lack of DM. Dunk should have blocked the cut back (Sheff Utd were blocking these types of passes all game and the Burnley defence block these types of passes every match) but you can’t criticise Dunk on NSC. Then March lost Bogle which was unfortunate. The shot was still deflected but this season especially, they’re all finding the back of our net!

If the deal breaks down because travel bans kick in and it took this long because the agent (s) was quibbling about small parts of the deal, the player needs to look elsewhere for representation
