I never wanted him to leave in this window and couldn’t be prouder of the way the club have handled this whole situation (I hope I’m saying the same thing come tomorrow night)

But part of me wonders if the agents badly advised statement released on social media actually proved to be the main catalyst for the clubs stance? And actually provoked a totally different response to the one they expected? Maybe the club would have accepted a £70 million pound offer if he has kept quiet and focused on what he’s paid to do.

Without doubt the club are fuming about that post / statement and I wonder if that actually made them even more determined that he stay, no matter what the offer!
Wouldn't be surprised if there was something in this, once that statement was released it became a matter of principle for the club and they would want to show that this kind of action would not win

Why on earth would anyone bet on that?
What part of the clubs stance “we’re not selling this window “ don’t you understand?

Some here believe Bloom will grab a high fee, no matter the impact on the second half of the season.

Plus general punters rushing to react to a Guardian guess …. based on clubs chasing Gallagher and Jorghinho.

I haven't read all the comments on this thread but it occurs to me that RDZ has made a stand on the 'threatened' Caiceido sale. He has said we need the player this season if we are to push for a European place. I think this is a 'line in the sand' statement and Tony Bloom will surely recognise it as such. If that is the case, a sale now would risk a serious rift between our club's most important people. Even £90 million wouldn't be worth it, especially as we may well get that amount in Summer anyway.....

It does not matter. This is not just about the money. If it was, Caicedo would’ve gone already. There is a multiplicity of reasons why Brighton are saying no. And the Twitterati and Sky sports HATE it when the big six are knocked back.
I know…..look at the post I was responding to

Now cfc have activated the buy out clause on the other player they want, they have to sell, i understand that the payments need to be paid up front and not over a few years, this means they cant dodge FFP rules.
Time for them to deploy the lawyers .. (of who they have more probably than they do footballers)

Doubt it. Suspect TB and RdeZ have been aligned all along.

One thing this has brought to light, I can say with complete and utter certainty

WE ARE NO LONGER UNDER THE RADAR

The amount of plaudits for our football recently has been unprecedented. Ally McCoist raving, Jordan, White, Jeff Stelling, Muzza, Karen Carney and so on and so on.

Feels like a twilight zone alternate reality.

My feeling is that he will stay and sign a new contract very shortly, and if we can get into Europe I suspect he'll be here until this time next year at least. I think he's probably had a lot of time to think and a lot of sensible words from sensible older heads, and might just be thinking his new agents aren't as smart as they think. If he stays and if (big if) we get into Europe, I'm sure he'll start to feel there isn't the rush his agents have made out.
I suspect he wants a move to a proper big club and staying with us a little longer won't harm his chances of that. My feeling will change tomorrow though, probably even before I go to bed tonight.

If the club is saying not for sale this window, you have to assume there in no buy-out clause written into his contract as it could be triggered

I think Moises will probably, but not definitely, stay now.

If this Fernandez to Chelsea deal falls through, I reckon they'll make us a 90m ish offer and we'll say yes.

We want to make a point yes, but if someones offering, near enough 100 big ones we'll take a view
