Keeping RDZ for as long as possible is a must. I realise that TB/PB will have the next names lined up. But the football’s a dream, with a mercenary winning mentality.

I never wanted him to leave in this window and couldn’t be prouder of the way the club have handled this whole situation (I hope I’m saying the same thing come tomorrow night)

But part of me wonders if the agents badly advised statement released on social media actually proved to be the main catalyst for the clubs stance? And actually provoked a totally different response to the one they expected? Maybe the club would have accepted a £70 million pound offer if he had kept quiet and focused on what he’s paid to do.

Without doubt the club are fuming about that post / statement and I wonder if that actually made them even more determined that he stay, no matter what the offer! Just to prove a point and not allow a precedent to be set following Leo’s similar behaviour.

For me, this has become far more a case of telling the ‘big 6’ money bag clubs to emphatically f*** off (including their infuriatingly entitled overseas plastics)

- rather than keep Moises to achieve a top 6/8 finish.

It is definitely a conscious statement. The football industry (clubs, agents, players) has misconstrued our strategy around player recruitment and sales. Profitability on player sales is a big part of the strategy but not the ONLY consideration. We also happen to be a competitive football club too, with a Uber-fan-owner chairman and an uber-passionate Italian in the dugout. We want to beat the top six regularly.
