Kind of this, the change being that I do now expect him to go. It pisses me off that he now weakens our squad on Sunday, when Liverpool could be there for the taking again. He has still only played something like 25 PL games, which makes the expected fee bonkers…. Does 25 games, plus a few at the WC make you an established player?

I'd be very surprised if Arsenal are willing to pay what is required. Depends how vital they see him to shore up their total bid.

I think anyone blaming the club for this, is venting their frustration in the wrong direction. The club have to walk a tightrope in terms of creating a vision of a club where a young player can progress and move onto a top 6 team, with being tough enough to sell on our terms. It's a difficult balancing act.
In this situation though, we have made it clear that we don't want to sell in mid season, we'll only look at a bid which is unignorable, and then more recently stated ' no more outgoings'.
It seemed to me that the transfer to Arsenal of Trossard had been conducted cordially. This approach with the lowball offer and the timing of this Social Media post looks like an underhand tactic to get their man on the cheap. Maybe their league position has added to their arrogance.
We'll stand firm on this one. We have to.
On a side issue, the social media post will really annoy the club. I expect its against the terms of Moisés contract to post anything of this nature on Social Media. It also uses the club emblem in the background which is not acceptable as this is certainly nothing like a club endorsed statement. It is a F@ck up by the agents but unfortunately the cat is now out of the bag.
Thankfully, it's now not long until the end of the window, so the club just have to hold firm for another few days, Moisés gets over it with the promise that he can go at the end of the season and I'm really hoping that we see some more decent performances from him.

Will do no harm whatsoever for us to stand firm, and for Caciedo to learn/understand regardless of what an agent/advisor says, when you’re under contract your host club holds the advantage.

Hopefully the new agent will lose credibility and discussions can restart in the summer.

I agree. Anyone can see that is an agency written statement on his social media. The guy is 21 and to me seems a good egg but when you have an entourage of 4 or 5 people in an agency (all quietly desperate for their payday off of you) acting like your best mate and saying you are being held back from your dreams by the big bad club and that you need to take action to make this happen , then I imagine it's very easy to get carried along with it and take the actions they suggest. Complete pack mentality and you are the youngest one in there who ultimately dictates whether all the others get their payday. There's quite a lot of pressure there.

MC isn't blameless. He's not 12. He can make his own decisions but I can see how it happens and, as you say, reject offers, let him have a little sulk and then let him play his football again.

While the prices are finger in the air if this player rosta is reasonably accurate it's pretty clear how important this deal.is to the agents.

I don’t think that not caving to these tactics is a discouragement for new players to join. We are developing their careers, giving them game time and have shown will sell when the price is right. There is a very clear distinction between that and allowing them to behave like sulky kids. Contracts are two way.

Yeah - I remember when Tony wanted to keep Dale Stephens one January when he was at his peak.

He had a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity to play in the Premier League. Dale downed tools and put a statement out on social media. I was in Newcastle at the game when he didn’t make the squad and was furious. We lost. I could see a massive difference in our midfield without Dale pulling the strings.

But as you say, player/agent power always trumps our Tony, or does it?

Dale stayed and helped to ultimately win us promotion. You don’t know Tony very well at all do you.
