I'd be very surprised if Arsenal are willing to pay what is required. Depends how vital they see him to shore up their total bid.

Still can't see him leaving in January, would be a very poor message to others unless it is a crazy fee, but expect him to be out of the starting 11 for a few weeks after that Tory move.
This is the thing that’s annoying me. I don’t expect him to go. But I do expect him to miss the game on Sunday, which massively reduces our chances of winning

On FM you can make a player sack their agent.
One of my favourite things to do.

"All this transfer talk is being driven by your agent mate, isn't it? Yeah? Y'know, I don't think he's doing right by you... have you considered f***ing him off and getting new reps? Think about it"

This one stings for me as we’ve not seen much sign of anyone filling the MC gap.

Whether he goes now or in the summer, who do you replace him with?

Alzate seems best bet but imo he’s nowhere near the level of biss or MC.

Others going was less of N issue as we already had replacements/pipelines.
That process will have started the moment we signed him to some extent, but January isn't enough time to have decided. I'd trust the club to do the right business in the summer though. None of us will have heard if the replacement of course, just as we hadn't heard of Caicedo.

Exactly that.

And if MC is covered by 4 or 5 big clubs and I was a wealthy successful club owner like TB, I'd be playing Chelsea and Arsenal like a fiddle to drive the price up, then tell MC he's going to Liverpool, Man Utd, Barcelona, Madrid or Newcastle. Not one of the clubs who did nothing but make him sulk in January.
Yep. And apparently he’s a United fan and he almost went there before. They’re building something now under a good manager, tell him he can go there in the summer as a perfect upgrade on Fred and McTominay and can play alongside Casemiro. Chelsea and Arsenal can get f***ed.

At some stage our best player's are going to move on to bigger club's. With our recruitment and development policies player's look upon us as a stepping stone.
Obviously don't won't to lose MC but if his head has been turned and the price is right the club have little to no alternative but to sell.
At some stage we need to hold onto our best player's and progress to gaining a European spot but maybe now isn't the right time.
Shame I'd already penciled in time for a European Tour.
How do we arrive at that stage tho, other than by offering comparable wages? That's the root cause of all of this. The amount of money sloshing around the upper echelons of the game is obscene. It tends not to bring out the best in people

The only difference is that it is happening to our club not someone elses. We have built success on playing the system, its a bit rich complaining when things don't go our way.

It is what it is and what it has always been.

We can clutch our pearls and complain about it all we want but it aint going to change.
Totally agree. Also works both ways and if we don’t want or need to sell a player under contract we won’t. The Albion are cash rich and the principle of only selling at our price is more important than Caicedo. He has brought this on with that social media post so for his sake let’s hope he is aware he is playing poker with the best. As to the fans we support the club, not individual players.

The whole thing reeks of an attempted and very co-ordinated coup by Arsenal and Caidedos new agents.

Arsenal are not prepared to pay Brighton/Blooms valuation so tell Moises agents to publically demand the transfer and try and force it (which only favours Arsenal).

This is my gut feeling too. The thing that bothers me is making the post late on Friday night? Yes Caicedos new agents could simply be based in Ecuador and may have posted at a more sociable hour in their time zone, but I cant help shake the thought that its a dirty tactic to generate buzz at a moment in time that Brighton aren’t realistically going to respond. Its absolutely rattled NSC so clearly worked to some extent.

Tell em to f*** off Tony. This is not the time to let rivals and agents push us around.

The problem here though is the price is not right and the player is stepping on the club to get his move

All those current players liking the post is a bit odd/off isn’t it?

Does it suggest a bit of a disconnect between the players and the club?
Or the players and their social media.

I also find this puzzling, he’s our player and he’s under contract. If we aren’t selling this window he needs to play.

I think anyone blaming the club for this, is venting their frustration in the wrong direction. The club have to walk a tightrope in terms of creating a vision of a club where a young player can progress and move onto a top 6 team, with being tough enough to sell on our terms. It's a difficult balancing act.
In this situation though, we have made it clear that we don't want to sell in mid season, we'll only look at a bid which is unignorable, and then more recently stated ' no more outgoings'.
It seemed to me that the transfer to Arsenal of Trossard had been conducted cordially. This approach with the lowball offer and the timing of this Social Media post looks like an underhand tactic to get their man on the cheap. Maybe their league position has added to their arrogance.
We'll stand firm on this one. We have to.
On a side issue, the social media post will really annoy the club. I expect its against the terms of Moisés contract to post anything of this nature on Social Media. It also uses the club emblem in the background which is not acceptable as this is certainly nothing like a club endorsed statement. It is a F@ck up by the agents but unfortunately the cat is now out of the bag.
Thankfully, it's now not long until the end of the window, so the club just have to hold firm for another few days, Moisés gets over it with the promise that he can go at the end of the season and I'm really hoping that we see some more decent performances from him.

What does the club do from this? I really dont know. We keep the same stance and we could have a sulky player for the rest of the season. Or try to striker a deal now but Arsenal/Chelsea probably wont go higher than £60/65m as they know our position is weakened.
Weakened how? It may have reduced the fee as the player is waiving any potential part of the fee by demanding to be sold, but we are still in control. He can sit out the rest of the season and be sold in the summer with 2, maybe 3, years left on his contract. That would also be a strong message to other players and our manager. I'd be gobsmacked if Arsenal stump up the required cash.
