Someone asked it before on here but I don't think anyone responded, but is there a reason it only seems to be London clubs actively pursuing our players? Purely the location and proximity to the south coast? More money to throw around? Better relationships with their owners as a result of said proximity and past dealings? Just seems a bit odd how absent the northern clubs have been in terms of joining them, given how many "sought after" players we've had in recent seasons.
Liverpool haven't got the money, Man City and United have full squads in these positions, United having signed Casimero for example.

Chelsea are a basket case, Arsenal I think were going to wait for the summer for Rice, but their title push is forcing their hand to try to strengthen now given their chance is very real.

I thought they wanted Rice?

I saw that Arteta said they might need reinforcements in midfield if Elneny's injury is worse than they thought. I'd be surprised if they thought they could get Caicedo for anywhere near 60m though.

I said it a few days ago and I'll say it again: Caicedo is going nowhere this month.

As said above, don't think Arsenal expected to be 5 points clear with a game in hand at the halfway stage. Not sure they have any real cover if Xhaka or Partey get injured and both mostly play the full 90. Can understand them feeling an extra bit of urgency rather than waiting till the summer. Reckon Caicedo is better than Rice anyway.

Quite.

Where they're looking to be, you need quality cover. You want to be able to make changes, whether voluntary or enforced, that doesn't weaken your eleven.

Man City's squad is strong enough to be able to handle all manner of player rotations, and not suffer with it. Arsenal will be wanting them some of that flexibility.

£100m and he will go can’t see them turning it down.

Fits the profile of the players Arteta wants behind the starting midfield 3 (Odegaard, Partey and Xhaka).

Lakonga 23
Vieira 22
Caicedo 21

Then you have other players like Nketiah (23), Smith-Rowe (22), Marquinhos (19), Martinelli (21), Saka (21), Kiwior (22), Saliba (21), Ramsdale (24)

Scary if they win the league this year as they already have long-term planning in place.

Sure TB will see an extra £5 mill on top of the pathetic Chelsea offer and go ‘sure why not, bye Moises’. Embarrassing bid for a player that isn’t going anywhere this month

Dumb from Arsenal, a big club we genuinely do seem to have had a good working relationship with behind the scenes. Seems a great way to piss off the Albion.

Why ?

We just approached RDZs previous employer in a war torn country and started bidding at €11M for a €30M player !

I can't claim to be all over all of our transfer business but I'm pretty confident we don't have a pre-existing good transfer relationship with them?

Yes probably but who's offering 100m? Chelsea have offered 55, Arsenal 60 are they going to nearly double their offers in the next few days?

I'm confident he'll still be our player on Feb 1st. I'm not confident he'll be ours whenever the first game of the 23/24 season is.

new agents want a big fee but Moises chose them for a reason. Lost respect for him and his bs statement being focused on us means nothing

Here
depends how you read it. his wording is caicedo wants the move now but isn't the type to force it. does he mean that he wants the move this window and that's always been the case.or does he mean that he's changed his mind and wants the move now
Wonder who Jacobs supports???
