I wouldn't love it as much - get into Europe with these 2 immense players, sell them both in the summer..... and then the possibility of floundering in Europe and a relegation battle due to the effect of the extra games and travel with a thin squad (most small clubs have really struggled with the league while in Europe).

I would much rather win the FA Cup with Mac and Moises and then sell them in the summer. If you're giving a choice, like. Want that one.
I kind of agree with you...and FA Cup win (I think one of the current top 4 will win though!!) would get us into Europe the following year I believe. I'm 100% sure Roberto wants Europe - a Champions League experience with Shakhtar was taken away from him.
£200M BOGOF for the pair (Caicedo and Mac). Any takers - Lverpool? Newcastle? Citeh? Real or Barca? (cash only for them - no IOUs or instalments!) Offer specifically not available to Chelsea ............................
but it's still too low 😏

Leaping on De Zerbi’s pidgin English and distorting it to mean something else is already a favourite pastime. I’ve just seen in The Mirror that he apologised to Trossard because he was ‘sorry’ about the last few weeks, when clearly he meant he was sorry Leo turned into a complete dick after the World Cup and soured things. Likewise, a Newcastle website deciding that it’s ‘possible’ Caicedo will leave in Jan means RDZ is touting him around, when it’s purely a statement of fact. Plus the one you’ve mentioned. Hopefully, most people get his drift. Otherwise he might be better off reverting to Italian or just saying nothing of interest, which would be a real shame. I’m surprised someone didn’t seize on him grabbing his Albion badge and saying ‘this is not important’ … he was talking about what happens in training as he was wearing a training top, but ripe for distortion by some click-hungry wannabe journalist.
Exactly this👍...loads of press distortion out there

I don't know the significance but IMO it was definitely the badge he was referring to. He looked for it on the left side of the shirt first before noticing it was in the middle.

I think the key element in all this is what Caicedo wants. If he’s happy to stay and knuckle down to the summer, I just don’t imagine Tony Bloom being tempted by any amount of money. That money, and possibly more, will still be up for grabs in the summer. Caicedo is only going to get better.

1. No journalist has any clue how much we would want for Caicedo because only TB knows, and even he probably has no set figure in mind.

2. It's not set in stone that any player will be sold in summer. In fact, I'm surprised that the head coach is even hinting as much.

3. If it's club policy to let any player go if he wants to provided the price is right, then a lot will depend on what the player in question wants. I believe Caicedo is in the process of finding a new agent so that may very well play into how things proceed at the end of the season, as will our final league position.

4. Unless I've seriously underestimated Billy Gilmour, Caicedo is the player who will be most difficult to replace, so I trust that we're looking particularly hard for defensive midfield players, and will be thinking about improving our reported offer for Ivan Ilic. Although I still believe in Steven Alzate and really hope that Rdz gets a look at him some tme soon..
Exactly.

Anyone who says otherwise has revealed themselves to be a blatant liar.

is it still the case the FA cup runners up get into Europe if the winner is already there, or has that changed?

Bizarrely I had a long chat with Caicedo's brother on the way to Leicester yesterday. Moises iis very happy at Brighton so Chelsea's low-balling tactics aren't unsettling him at all. Having the large South American contingent is very central to that. However, he does think Caicedo will move to either Liverpool or Chelsea in the summer. He won't be doing a Trossard though. Seems a very grounded family

Hope he goes to Liverpool then if that’s the case, it will irrationally anger me if Winstanley signs him and he ends up playing for Potter again.

Albion’s transfer strategy from now on should be as simple as ABC.

Anyone But Chelsea.
Quite the opposite. A transfer has CAT added to it. Chelsea Added Tax

Cucurella £30m+CAT= £55m

We also all know he’s capable of going to right to the very top - which neither of those clubs represent at the moment.
Arsenal then ? Or Man City / Newcastle ?

We are run within sensible budget constraints. Whatever the club offers , he could earn a lot more at clubs like Chelsea & Arsenal
