Not ignoring those bits, but we all know TB is under no pressure to sell...

I just don't understand where the figure has come from - £75m has probably just been made up by the journalist
It’s more than Cucurella and less than £100m would be my hunch

£200M BOGOF for the pair (Caicedo and Mac). Any takers - Lverpool? Newcastle? Citeh? Real or Barca? (cash only for them - no IOUs or instalments!) Offer specifically not available to Chelsea ............................
No. For Chelsea it's £250M

In an ideal world this window we would strengthen with a couple of quality players and give the top six a real go. We’ve sold our top goal scorer and maybe will sell one of our best midfielders I find in quite depressing and not much fun tbh. I can’t get excited by a big fee I can’t watch a massive pile of cash on a Saturday afternoon now can I.

Don’t worry, we will not sell one of our best midfielders this month. Just enjoy the rest of the season

1. No journalist has any clue how much we would want for Caicedo because only TB knows, and even he probably has no set figure in mind.

2. It's not set in stone that any player will be sold in summer. In fact, I'm surprised that the head coach is even hinting as much.

3. If it's club policy to let any player go if he wants to provided the price is right, then a lot will depend on what the player in question wants. I believe Caicedo is in the process of finding a new agent so that may very well play into how things proceed at the end of the season, as will our final league position.

4. Unless I've seriously underestimated Billy Gilmour, Caicedo is the player who will be most difficult to replace, so I trust that we're looking particularly hard for defensive midfield players, and will be thinking about improving our reported offer for Ivan Ilic. Although I still believe in Steven Alzate and really hope that Rdz gets a look at him some tme soon..

I really feel for poor old Todd Boehly, he really isn't much of a business man is he? I mean he could have got everything he ever wanted if he had just bought a season ticket at the Amex instead.

Moder was being used wider than Caicedo is by both Potter and Poland, though he's a terrific footballer on his day. Have to hope the injury has completely healed and it'll be like having a new player. I have more hope of Koslowski than Gilmour having seen the latter. He's about half the player Caicedo is and looks more suited to the Lallana role anyway.
He was but he’s not an out and out wide man. Definitely another to count as a central midfield contender.

I'm sure he would if he spoke English well, but he doesn't yet and probably meant it to be a hypothetical situation as in 'if he were to change team, it would be better to wait until the summer'.
Leaping on De Zerbi’s pidgin English and distorting it to mean something else is already a favourite pastime. I’ve just seen in The Mirror that he apologised to Trossard because he was ‘sorry’ about the last few weeks, when clearly he meant he was sorry Leo turned into a complete dick after the World Cup and soured things. Likewise, a Newcastle website deciding that it’s ‘possible’ Caicedo will leave in Jan means RDZ is touting him around, when it’s purely a statement of fact. Plus the one you’ve mentioned. Hopefully, most people get his drift. Otherwise he might be better off reverting to Italian or just saying nothing of interest, which would be a real shame. I’m surprised someone didn’t seize on him grabbing his Albion badge and saying ‘this is not important’ … he was talking about what happens in training as he was wearing a training top, but ripe for distortion by some click-hungry wannabe journalist.

Can EVERYONE on the thread take note of this post. Although it’s something most will know, it’s worth noting that it’s true and to ignore the bullshit tweets that some journalists put out there. Exactly my thoughts on it all but nice to have it confirmed by someone who actually knows. Fans are as bad as the journos sometimes…!

Re 3, hasn’t he already switched agents ?

No club will risk loaning back an £80m player both parties couldn’t risk an injury. Also you risk getting a half arsed player.
Who is this 80m player you mention?

Caicedo hasn’t got a value.

I still believe in Alzate too.

I think he is Lallana’s replacement at some point. His passing is incredibly creative and positive. He is also part of the SA gang at the club and was, only last year, our best player in this match against the European Champions:
