That is a depressing thought.Lots of outgoings at Chelsea. Could they be preparing a last minute SWOOP?
I'm saying yes and he'll go for 90 plus add ons.
He's now 4/1 to join Arsenal, and the same to join Chelsea

Likewise…..considering his age, I’m laying most of the mess on his agentsIf he plays for us and helps us win on Saturday, I will be absolutely delighted. I don't need an apology. I appreciate some fans may be a bit more precious.
Remember though, me and thousands of other people have no idea what we're talking about. That is a depressing thought.

Had a look on the web, Benfica want all the money in 1 lump sum, if cfc have to pay it in 1 go then shirley it will affect FFP, from 4 sites i found 2 say no impact whilst the other 2 say it will.I thin they are paying ABOVE the release clause so it doesn’t have to be paid upfront
I thought they got round the fair play bit by offering the guy a eight year contract even if they paid fee in one go…as in divide that fee by 8Had a look on the web, Benfica want all the money in 1 lump sum, if cfc have to pay it in 1 go then shirley it will affect FFP, from 4 sites i found 2 say no impact whilst the other 2 say it will.
Im on about BenficaIf the club is saying not for sale this window, you have to assume there in no buy-out clause written into his contract as it could be triggered
Not just the pundits. Seems to be the case for a bunch of armchair Gooners too. I foolishly nibbled on Twitter this afternoon. Put forward the “it’s not always about the cash argument” only to be met with a reply suggesting we’d get less in the summer, seemingly missing the entire point. What seems to escape 90% of the ex-player pundits is that maybe, just maybe we have our own goals in the season and therefore don't want to sell him? What's the point in £70 mil if it dents our chances of Europe, when the money will go on funding a player to...help us into Europe.
Most of them talk about us like our reason of being is to create players for the "top six" - which is kind of ironic considering how utterly pony Arsenal have been for the majority of the last 5 years.
It is definitely a conscious statement. The football industry (clubs, agents, players) has misconstrued our strategy around player recruitment and sales. Profitability on player sales is a big part of the strategy but not the ONLY consideration. We also happen to be a competitive football club too, with a Uber-fan-owner chairman and an uber-passionate Italian in the dugout. We want to beat the top six regularly.

He turned shit for us after he signed his contract, seldom been less bothered about a player leaving. Seems to be shining at Celtic. Every time the BBC or Talk Sport annoyingly switch to Scottish football on match days it seems Mooy is involved in every goal they scoreMooy had a very specific clause in his contract only relating to Chinese clubs. With something like in his contract, I imagine it was agreed between all parties he would move there after a time.
I wouldn't be unhappy if Caicedo signed a new contract with increased wages, but the inclusion of a high buyout clause (which could stipulate summer window only, at least 1 month before the close of the window). But in Tony we trust.Tony has previously said he doesn’t do buy-out clauses as you lose control of the transaction.
That may be true, but I believe there was a very bizarre clause that was activated when Mooy went to China, I know we made profit so wasn’t at all bad.Tony has previously said he doesn’t do buy-out clauses as you lose control of the transaction.

Didn't someone Arsenal tried to buy years ago have one (Suarez?) for £40m and they offered £40m + £1 or something silly? The only one I have ever heard of in the U.K. is Jack Grealish. Also, I did read that they are a legal requirement in Spain and all player contracts include them.
I’ve read it as Chelsea haven’t actually met the true release clause (requires 1 payment in full) they’ve asked Benfica if they pay £10m above the release clause will Benfica accept a large upfront (assume 50%) and 5 further yearly instalments.Had a look on the web, Benfica want all the money in 1 lump sum, if cfc have to pay it in 1 go then shirley it will affect FFP, from 4 sites i found 2 say no impact whilst the other 2 say it will.

How much lumped on Chelsea
Ah. Looks like we're losing Caicedo then, because I know for a fact that Arsenal's transfer dealings are driven by helping people on twatter prove other twatters wrong.Got to admire Andy Naylor. His latest no, nay, never posting has had 750,000 views and so much personal abuse you'd think he'd committed an unspeakable crime.
Some Arsenal fans even calling for the club to pay more to prove him wrong.
Someone told me who is quite ITK, that it was a China only release clause, people can believe me or not, but that’s like my one piece of inside information I’ve ever got, so I like to flaunt it, oh yeah and that Veltman turned down Roma last season (or maybe the season before), but that’s it. Tripled his salary in China so can’t blame him, he’s family still live in Huddersfield. That wasn’t really a buy-out
