In De Zerbi's post match press conference today, when asked about Kudus he seemed pretty cold on the prospect, and when answering the next question, about Brightons pulling power, he did say he only wants players who are proud to want to play for Brighton.

Possibly a reference to Kudus reluctance to sign for us, despite the clubs agreement.

Perhaps it's as simple as we do need (or at least, want) the Caicedo money to buy Kudus. Its possible everything is agreed but we're not going to sign the deal until Chelsea pay up.

And I'm sure that if / when we do sign Kudus we'd like him to be match fit, so hardly a problem from our perspective him playing for Ajax.
