Mobile Phone Help Required Please

I have recently changed mobiles, and was thinking of putting my old one on eBay as it's still in pretty decent condition. It's a Nokia 7250i, and I was on a contract with Orange. That contract was cancelled (by me) and it ran out in the middle of August.

Having just looked at the current auctions for these phones on eBay, I see that they are normally described as either locked or unlocked. So what does that mean exactly? And what would I have to do to my old phone before selling it?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

It means that currently it will only work on the Orange network. I'm not sure how they do this but some shops can unlock them, normally costs about a tenner I believe. I think some internet sites now do it somehow.

Easy 10 got a pikey at Ford market to do it, can't believe I remember that but there you go.

un locked means it will take a sim card from any network, locked means it will only work on one network

Thanks both. The advice I've just had from a mate who has sold several phones on eBay recently is to sell it locked anyway - just make sure to state in the description what network it is locked to.
