Just watching STL on the south side of Chicago.

Any White Sox fans here?

That Rodón is some pitcher isn't he!

After a great result from England the weekend keeps getting better with the Yankees beaten 8-3 by the Mets in Round 1 of the Subway Series

After last night I'm just so grateful for some respite as my Nat'nals head out to the West Coast...

OMG - The Yankees are about to take on the White Sox in a cornfield in Iowa, a recreation of The Field Of Dreams!

Must have been a great game to have been at, and always nice to see the Yankees lose.

A lot of Yankees fans now calling for manager Aaron Boone to be fired

Magnificent film.

It was pretty cool watching home runs sailing over the wooden outfield fence and into the cornfields behind.

MLB is absolutely superb at coming up with ideas like this, and also respecting the traditions of the game with retro uniforms, Jackie Robinson Day (first star black player to play professional baseball), taking the sport to London, Mexico, Puerto Rico, etc.

It contrasts starkly with football in England which - you could be forgiven for thinking - was invented in 1992.

This is just superb...shame Ray Liotta didn't step out of the corn.

Agreed, I remember watching the Red Sox play at Fenway Park and doing the tour. They had so much pride showing you round the oldest MLB stadium still in use

I've been oddly fascinated by my Nat'nals since they decided to 'change direction'.

At midseason they decided they weren't quite good enough so took the very American decision to offload the live wood, that was propping them up and replace them with...

...well, my American relatives.

All the while keeping 1 ace, with the promise to 'build the team around him'.

Utd selling, De Gea, Maguire, Pogba, Ronaldo, Rashford in one day but keeping Greenwood.

It's amazing to watch, only about 3 players are consistently the same.
No pitcher lasts longer than a month.
They lose every game but in oddly spectacular ways.
The ground isn't even half full.
There aren't any home fans in the stadium.

All so baffling to me over here.

I cannot keep up with the Nats this season, total write off which is a bit depressing given the huge number of games to endure before the blessed relief that will be the end of the season.

Loved last night - it summed up the whole situation.

0-6 down.
6-6 in the 7th.
6-13 end.

Mets fans going wild in the stadium!

Don't. I am still coming to terms with the bottom of the 9th in Milwaukee last night
