The parallel is News International, should anyone really be now boycotting reading the Times or sunscribing to Sky because of what happened at Wapping 20 years ago?
Blimey I hope not. I picketed Wapping (didn't work there, just part of Thatcher's "Enemy within") and now I'm a Sky subscriber AND I often read the Times!

All very confusing and I will admit to being confused :)

To be honest they aren't real supporters if they follow MK Dons. MK is not a football town, if they were real supporter they would of been supporting their local club trying to get then into the football league. They are no different to Man U armchairs fans, something new and different comes along and they jump on the bandwagon

I cannot believe this - what are the board and the club playing at?

This is a f***ing disgrace that we are playing Franchise FC and I am disgusted that a club like ours who has been dragged through the shit by people like those in charge at MK Dons are even considering giving money to those bastards.

I apologise to all of you offended by the language, but considering all the moral shit that Knight and Perry have dished out over the last nine years, they are making themselves look like wankers.

I urge every one of you considering going to Franchise FC to carefully consider what happened and what would have happened had Archer and Bellotti still have been in charge!

Following this, I think there are now moves to allow the MK Dons Supporters Association to join the Federation, which would coincide with moves to end the organised boycott - the feeling being that while the Wimbledon saga remains abhorrent to most supporters, it is time "to move on".
Time to move on?

:censored:

In comparison with the Albion's plight, the Wimbledon saga has barely started.

I'll "move on" when AFC Wimbledon stand higher up the pyramid than this bunch of chancers. And then ONLY if we are playing at Falmer.

Ironically, on 28th July 2003, Lewes were scheduled to play MK Dons in a pre-Season friendly.

This was cancelled following an outcry from Lewes, AFC Wimbledon & Brighton fans, some of it organised from NSC.

I know the pre-season schedule is a bit light, but the board have shown in the past that they are willing to act on points of principle to the detriment of the club (Wickes advertising).

Personally, I'll boycott it. I know some people are saying the Franchise stuff is in the past & we should move on - to me that's like saying "oh all that Palace stuff was in the 70's, I quite like them now."

Plus - Pete Winkelman scares me.

The confusing element for me is an issue about how long boycotts should last - should they be for ever more, or for a targeted period of time.

All boycotts must be targeted and have a set aim.

If and when the club is under different ownership, MAYBE then will they be accepted as a proper club, although I will still hope AFC Wimbledon can get higher than them in the league pyramid. But for us to give the current ownership ANY oppurtunity to make money out of us is a disgrace. :censored:

I think we have enough problems ourselves to contend with. Why even both moaning about MK Dons?It really an't a big deal. After all it's not exactly a money spinner for them is it?

Well, I think everyone hopes that - with the noteable exception of The Laughing Bluebird who has money riding on the opposite outcome

I want to be convinced on the merits of continuing the boycott and the appropriate aim of such a boycott, so you, OTLW and others keep up the good fight by all means.

I wasn't actually putting forward my own views - just describing what is happening among the organised supporters groups and federations.

As it happens, I sympathise with your passion on the issue.

I don't actually know whether the time is now right to lift the boycott on the MK Dons. There is some quite confused thinking on this issue, the Albion Supporters Club appear to be saying the organised boycott of league games should end, but they accept people may want to make individual gestures, and they feel friendly fixtures are wrong "at the present time".

Since MK Dons have been in the concrete cow town, new football supporters have undoubtedly come forward to enjoy the game, (or as much as you can a team slipping down the leagues  ) Do we have any duty of solidarity to these football supporters who took no part in the original crime?

All very confusing and I will admit to being confused :)
