If Ward's a no go and he's good enough to play regularly at our level, hope we go for it. If he's similar level to Chicksen, can't really see the point. Coming from the Ajax academy, he should be considerably better though.

Mitchell Dijks may leave Ajax and is directly interest arising from the UK. Championship club Brighton & Hove Albion would like to accept the Ajacied, but according to The Telegraph there would be more interest from the UK for the linksback. Dijks, which this week was told that he has no future at Ajax, has in Amsterdam has a contract until mid-2015.

At last a sensible transfer thread.

Sensible, until everybody piles on with how good/bad he is based on their quick search internet knowledge of him.

Here are some FACTS:

He was loaned to Heerenveen last season, playing regularly.
He has played at all levels of the Netherlands youth set up.
He has floppy hair.
If we sign him, then many opposing fans will be making jokes about us having Dijks at the back. Or if he is particularly physical, " That Dijks is hard".
I may be tempted to make similar jokes, to be honest.

If we want him then I just hope we are well ensconced in the purchasing process and he doesn't get touted to all and sundry as happened to his namesake Virgil.

Mitchell Dijks was not a Dutch marine chef, not a Dutch marine chef, not a Dutch marine chef...

From goal.com's Dutch site (via google translate):
Mitchell Dijks of Frank de Boer told that he can leave. The left, according to the Telegraph UK.

Because Ajax Nicolai Boilesen, Nick Viergever and possibly even Daley Blind has plenty of options at left back, coach Frank de Boer thinks that it is better for the dikes to seek his fortune elsewhere.

The 21-year-old Dijk came last season on loan for sc Heerenveen, but he has the technical staff of the Amsterdam convincing. Either in Friesland or in preparation

According to De Telegraaf is the next chapter of the dikes' career in England, where the club Brighton and Hove Albion would be interested. This association comes from the Championship, the second level of England.

Dijk went through Amsterdam youth academy and made his debut on 19 August on behalf of Ajax in the Eredivisie against NEC (1-6) win. In total Dijk played nine matches in the main body of the champion.

In a pile of football shirts
We'll possibly offer him a one year contract, Rotherham or some such will offer him 3 and he'll go there.
