Frank Lampard in an England shirt.

Last seen in Portugal in 2004.

If found, please contact fabiocapello@thefa.com

(p.s. if you're Andy Townsend, don't bother. That was not anything like a 'good' performance in the heart of the midfield)

You saved me posting a similar thread. Are the ITV commentators really that clueless? Gerrard and Lampard where completely and remain to be indifferent and unable to play together for England. Gerrard was good, not great, and Lampard was woeful. seems to me they can only play with a Barry or Carrick behind them. Mascherano, Alonso, Essien, Ballack, All do the tidying up at club level, we need Barry to do the same.

Despite the fact we haven't played at a tournament for 4 years, the same questions where raised as they were previously. On tonight's evidence...
.Can Gerrard and Lampard play together or without Barry? NO
.Do we have a reliable, good, solid and confirmed number one that we can't say is worse than Shay Given?NO
.Have we found a player that can operate on the left for the first time in decades? NO
.Can England play without a "get out clause" lump up front?NO

However I think we can concur Milner and Wright Phillips are not better than J.Cole, or for that matter Walcott.

Next game I hope yet there is no chance this will be the team:

..........................................James..................................
Johnson..................Terry..................King....................Cole

Lennon.................Gerrard.................Barry..................J.Cole

........................Rooney...................Heskey.......................

it was comical when Townsend asked, what would Capello do about Gerrard with Barry returning? f***ing obvious really, drop Lampard.

Exactly, just bloody drop him. He can't go for 5 in midfield as Heskey served his purpose tonight and I just know that when Barry comes back he will shove Gerrard, are captain, on the wing and completely waste him.

There was so much space for players to run at our defense behind the midfield, imagine what an inform Messi could do against us let alone the Hull reject Altidore!

Lampard for Barry, J.Cole for Milner. END OF!

Either grow up or discuss this in the playground on Monday morning.

1-1 is not the end of the world.

Lampard only scores more goals from midfield than any other player in the world, every season.

Lets drop him, and then we will only have 2 players in the starting eleven capable of scoring (Rooney & Gerrard)

I think these were the same questions that were being asked when Mclaren was manager..........and mostly the same players as well. So..what really has changed ??

im not a Lampard knocker, but those goals are at club level. he is no midfield general, and if it comes to a choice between him and Gerrard, the scouser wins as he has more to his game. Lampard just wants to work the ball to the edge of the box and take a shot. with Barry back (or even dare i say Milner as a holding midfielder) there simply isnt the space in midfield for Lampard unless one pushes Gerrard out to the left, which is a waste and unbalances the side. if we go 4-5-1 then it might work, but today showed if anyone had any doubt that Lampard/Gerrard central paring doesnt work if you want any sort of protection of the defence (and they need it with their lack of pace...)

The sad thing is, this thread wouldn't have appeared if Green hadn't f***ed up. We would have comfortably won 1-0 and Lampard would have had bad game. It happens.

I see our Man Utd supporting friend has started a Rooney missing thread.
