[NSC] 'Missing' Thread

Was it started by somebody you have on Ignore? I had a similar situation yesterday. Took a MeMeMe oddball off of Ignore temporarily on the hunch (well near-certainty really) that it might be them and - hey presto! - up popped a dozen page thread Now safely back on Ignore

Yes, I have an iPad and generally scroll up/down using my left hand, I must have accidentally tapped on a @Dick Head post inadvertently opening the user box and put him on ignore unknowingly, couldn’t get any match day threads for about 4 weeks. I seem to remember he had had Covid or something so assumed he was unwell and out of respect match day threads were not being posted ! Missed a number of threads including the Liverpool 3.0 game. Gutting !

I’m guessing from the fact that THPP got thanked for suggesting the exact same thing I had in the post above is my sad way of finding out I’m ignored too.

No idea how - but I know things sometimes work slightly differently depending on how they're being accessed. Previous to the new website, tapatalk seemed to impose itself on some mobile phone users, for instance.

Anyway, a sensible answer to the mystery of the nissing thread has now been provided.

I was putting the lack of a sense of humour down to a hangover coupled with the ongoing transfer window stress. Now however I wonder if the 49er bit is about the American version of egg chasing and the 49ers losing last night has made captain ignorer excessively grumpy.

Wonder if I now qualify for the elite ignored list?

In the same post I said about how I put someone on ignore on a different website.

That site uses the same software as NSC, so it was a pretty educated guess.

You qualify for a very apt user name, at least the frst part of it!............and I've absolutely no idea what your ramblings about 'the 49er bit' are about. The question poised in the OP actually was about threads not appearing on the BIg Board which it now transpires is the case, and some people have kindly taken the trouble to explain why. Which is nice (though a bit annoying that the threads do not appear).

Not missed it, Bozza - trawling through all the smart-alec joke posts and I just hadn't got to it. Just a thought for future reference though - is it possible to leave the Thread Title on the Big Board listing, with the note that appears when someone quites a poster you have on ignore? As in:-

This is the best part of the new version. I and many others have been asking for ages for the ability to ignore threads. It is now possible by ignoring the starters of those threads. My personalized BIg Board now only contains the threads I am interested in or not bothered about appearing.

To be fair, I wasn't to know of this particular little quirk and, respectfully, I really didn't care enough to give it enough thought to think through an answer. It's been provided now though and it's an interesting consequence of the ignore feature and possibly undermines the feature a little bit as it hides potentially important/interesting threads.

We've all learned a lot through this thread, which is another reason not to merge it anywhere else, Shirley?

Only to yourself so it doesn’t undermine it at all. It’s choice and I am not bothered about hiding ‘potentially important/interesting threads.’ My ignoring a thread via this facility doesn’t affect you in any way.

Missing the point big time!!

I would be quite happy to be able to 'ignore' a thread - but that is not the option. The reason I can't see the thread is because it was started by one of the few people who have offended me by their rudeness sufficiently to be put on ignore - the fact that the thread is about our pursuit of a young player who we have now succeeding in bringing to the club is one in which I certainly do have an interest, even if I have no interest in a particular poster's view on the subject.
