Missing Megan - HUGE cringe moment by Argus LIVE on Sky News...

I know there is already a thread on missing Megan, the Eastbourne schoolgirl, but I'm so staggered by this I felt it warrants a new thread.

Watching the LIVE coverage of a Sussex Police press conference on Sky News attended by top cops and, at one point, by parents of the missing girl, a female Argus reporter pipes up with this question:

"Do you think this could be a suicide pact? Do you think they are dead?"

The cop heading the investigation seemed as staggered as the rest of the press no doubt were.

Nice bit of exposure for the Argus and their ever-lowering standards these days.

Good to see the Argus on the PULSE as usual.

Never mind, just found out who it was - Anna Roberts. She's as mad as a box of frogs but it makes her go up on the hot/crazy scale

Any idea who the reporter was?

Didn't hear her full name as she announced her presence among the throng of national journalists and French media but her first name is Jo.

EDIT: My listening skills are clearly as bad as her reporting skills as, according to the post above, it's not Jo but Anna Roberts. Either that or she got her own name wrong.

Which ever one of you idiots that said that here, first, should be ashamed of themselves.

The standard of Argus Journalism has just gone from the Gutter into the sewer. That question is crass and insensitive beyond belief.

Having said that, the quality of Argus Journalism is quite serious & newsworthy sometimes......

Apparently she has had a disciplinary over this after half a dozen people complained about her questioning

Thing is, it makes no sense to ask that question. If it's dismissed you look stupid and/or insensitive, and if they say yes then every paper in the land has the story as well.

Just have a quiet word with the police separate to the conference so that if true you have an exclusive and if not you haven't upset anyone
