Brighton factually.....
He was quite local to me and there was loads of hooha in the local press here for months. Yes, he seemingly ‘vanished’ but a squaddie on a drunken night out, seen on cctv climbing into a waste bin in the early hours is a very very different scenario that a slightly built lone female, walking her dog at 9 in the morning.

Don’t want to speculate but an unfortunate accident involving an issue with the dog seems the most likely to me - shame dogs don’t talk!

Obviously thoughts to out to family and friends for a positive outcome, couple of points regarding Police tactics, excellent crime series currently running on Pick channel and Police methods and if anyone had seen any programmes re The Derby house fire some of the press conferences were designed in such a way to flush out Philpott.

I am sure I will be pounced on here for having an opinion. But I think (my thoughts) are a mental breakdown.
People don't just disappear. Girl has gone away (hopefully) to sort her head out. You don't think normally once you are in that zone.
Depression is shit so let's hope for once I am not talking shit.

I get what your saying, but not one sighting, if she’s sorting her head out surely she would have seen someone?

And why would the harness be taken off the dog at all (by anyone)? seems very odd
Sadly I think @LennyTee above is probably right, and the tragedy may well be that she has set her phone down, removed the dog's harness setting it free and whatever has happened has happened of her own accord with entering the river as the most likely scenario it seems.

This sounds really crazy but if I was in a really bad frame of mind I think I'd just unclip the lead from the harness. I think I'd actually tie the dog to the bench to make sure he couldn't jump in after me & mess up my plan as I'd feel the need to rescue him if he got into trouble. God that sounds grim. :( There's still hope that she's alive because she hasn't been found though.

If you don't want to be found, you won't be.
I have many plans to disappear lol. And then someone comes along and talks to me and I realise life ain't too bad really.
Hopefully that lass has just not had a random talk to her yet.
If I didn't have cats I'd be long gone so f*** knows what it is like with kids.

If she has decided to disappear, how is she managing without money etc.
With all the CCTV about these days she wouldn't get far without someone seeing her etc.
Sadly I fear the worst.

The harness is a red herring - it's been reported by friends and family that they always take the harness off the dog when walking there.
That's fair enough, I didn't know that. I'd still tie him to the bench though to stop him messing things up! :(

Same stretch of river, 45 years ago, another tragedy where the body wasn't found for 2 months.

I just cannot see why if anything sinister happened why the harness was taken off the dog, and the phone left on the bench still connected. I think the police working hypothesis is still the most likely.
Agreed. If she was taken, the speed would have required a vehicle which would have left tracks in a muddy field, and been seen. If she did a Reggie Perrin style disappearance there’d surely have been a sighting somewhere.

Ok...still weird to me though...just unclip the lead so the dog can run free 🤔. Unless this harness is some one piece thingy 🤷‍♂️
