It is illegal to drink alcohol on the way to a football match even taking unopened bottles for the journey home. If stopped, you would be forced to turn round and tickets confiscated.
What if your stopped on the way home, have you got to go back to Wolverhampton???

A grand? Bloody ell, the last time we hired one it was for Sheffield United and it was less than £200, we thought that was expensive, having said that at least the match was good even though we lost we saw nine goals.

You would be surprised. Every other minibus I found of this size was at least £2,000.

I've never heard of this, is this also walking/training to a game too, or only driving? What about the thousands of people that hit the pub before a match?

I can’t believe the way this thread has gone. Get pissed, stop at the last services, finish the booze, clear out all the cans, and In the unlikely event of getting stopped make a pact to all keep schtum and let the driver do the talking. Simples
Especially, as has been mentioned, we're going corporare hospitality so no one will be in colours. No trains, £62.50 a head return door to door.

I’ve seen fans having alcohol confiscated at services on the motorway.

I have simply stated the law, as said, passed in 1985. People can suit themselves, but if it goes wrong, they can’t say they don’t know.

Barber won’t like this at all and is probably ringing around all the local minibus hire companies 😂

We actually have one person coming from Sevenoaks. He's getting a lift to Cobham Services first. PM me if you're interested
Very kind of you. Might be a stretch getting to either from Orpington for me. But appreciate the offer.

Thanks. That's absolutely barmy. I've been going to football for years and never knew this. It must be pretty hard to prove someone on the train is going to a football match.

In practical terms I guess it's either not enforced or only really applies on trains where alcohol is already prohibited (or if somebody's being excessively rowdy anyway).
