So is £99,999,999, but you said "in excess" of 8 figures. That means more than 8 figures.

Not in football parlance which fans understand , in excess of eight figures means anything more than a seven figure sum (£9,999,999) ie £10,000,000 or above until you get into the realms of £100M+

Clyne is worth that and more , the fee for mings is crazy . But I think we have a nice 20% sell on clause with soton as well
I've got a horrible feeling dipsticks will come in for Johnny now .

I agree - that's excellent value for Clyne and not so great value for Mings.

And they are paying 37 year old Sylvain Distin £40,000 per week, following his release by Everton.

Former Pompey great.

It's like they actively want to go bankrupt.

Personal recommendation from Harry Redknapp who said he was a triffic player at Pompey :lolol:

Mings is an excellent player - would have been delighted if we'd signed him. Not for £8M though.

Ipswich were asking for £10m for him earlier this year... as Luke Garbutt hasn't gone to Bournemouth on loan yet, will be interesting to see if Mings heading there changes Martinez's plans. If Bournemouth are making that sort of investment in a player, I'm presuming their intention isn't to leave them on the bench game after game. If that was the case, wouldn't mind Garbutt on a season long loan. Otherwise wouldn't mind Marcus Olsson, 27 year old Swedish international who can also play on left wing and is available on a free as his contract has expired with Blackburn, also has a vague connection with Hughton as he signed his twin brother Martin for Norwich.

*Olsson was Blackburns player of the year last season btw.

And here I was thinking that Eddie Howe was a good manager, but just like all the rest he has fallen into the trap of spending money like water when he is given some. Why not try sticking with the team that got you promoted Eddie? You know, that team that you got playing really well and know each others game? He will be gone by Xmas.
