Why didn't the club just ask for an away fixture on Boxing day if they were aware of these issues?

Because we started the season away i think (because of Pride), means that a Home game falls on Boxing Day. Think the club would prefer a March game myself, as more people could obviously attend and we could be in for a play-off/promotion place - so it could be a very important game which could sell a lot of tickets.

Why would we have a spare Saturday in March?

We don't!

There's an international break in March but as we have potential call ups for Scotland & Wales that'd be a no-no. Also if we progress beyond R3 of FA Cup that would mean more fixture changes so I can't see the club agreeing to put it back too far.

The SENSIBLE suggestion would have been to just flip the two Millwall games so we play them at home on the 29/9 and then away Boxing day like we played them a few yrs ago.

Too late now tho.

Public transport travel on Boxing day is a mare for sure. BUT: Apart from a few tubes & skeleton train service in the London area, nowhere else has any public transport running on Boxing day afaik. There was no realistic way of going to Reading on Boxing Day last season apart from Car or Club Coach. The Albion aren't re-inventing the wheel by trying to find a solution to Boxing Day matchday travel.

Could Seagull Travel put on some extra coaches from outlying area's?

Brighton Racecourse surely has more scope to take extra cars for the park and ride?

Or maybe an extra (temporary) park & ride in the Lewes area, utilising the Car Parks in the town? Most shops over there would be closed on Boxing Day. Tesco's has a sizable car park on the edge of town. I'm fairly sure they don't open on Boxing Day?

Switching the H & A games would mean we had three home games in a row.
It would also mean Crawley and the team Millwall are paired with would have to switch as well. And so on and so on...

How does whether we play at home or not affect Creepy, and their record 5000 crowds?

Ahhh...we should be playing Palace just like the old days! Anybody remember the Easter game at Selhurst with the 5 pens...Palace missing 3 of em? World record at the time if i remember correctly.

Or was it a May bank holiday? I can't remember!
