On another related note, how likely are they to get to general sale and sell out?

Never been Millwall before but dying to go before I move out of the country.

Millwall is one of my favourite aways. Don't be put off by what happened at Rotherham. It's usually trouble free and easy to get to. Stick with what most people have said and do your drinking around London Bridge.

I went to London last week and no trains were stopping at London Bridge.
I had to carry onto Waterloo or Charing Cross and get the underground back to London Bridge.
The same on the way home. The announcer on the train said no trains were stopping at Bridge until August 2016.

I think it's just thameslink at the moment that doesn't stop there. Change at East Croydon and there are plenty that terminate at LB.

Not sure where your travelling from but if you finished work in Brighton at 5pm you can get to Sth Bermondsey for 18.44 (17.19 Btn to East Croydon, then 18.08 to London Bridge and finally the 18.40 LB to Sth Bermondsey)
You could leave it late and even catch the 17.56 from Brighton and arrive at South Bermondsey at 19.31 with just one change at London Bridge but that would be cutting it a bit fine.

I find New Cross Gate is a better station to alight at/return from, as it is on the main line into London Bridge, (certainly from Horsham, my nearest station), and only a 10/15 minute walk from the New Den. To get to South Bermondsey, you would need to change trains at London Bridge.

The only possible downside, is that if the police insist on escorting us back to the station, it will be South Bermondsey they frogmarch us to, we won't get a choice.

Drinking wise though, as other posters have said, stay well away from the area anywhere near the ground.

I walked to New Cross Gate in March and was home well before everyone else. You may recall that the route takes you past the site of the old Den. I think I saw a plaque there.
