No memories or was this one only for people who had a death wish. I wa sonly 13 and mt Dad wouldn't take me so i had to listen to it on the Radio :(

Same here- was desperate to go, but my old man said it might get nasty. I remember listening to the first half- but when we went a goal down i was to scared to listen anymore! tuned in again with 10 mins to go and we were winning. Happy days!!

Makes you realise what a good team we had back then - and what a pile of shit we have now.

I missed the first leg as I was ill so had to make up for it by getting up to the away leg one way or another.

Ended up going on the coaches for some reason and remember stopping somewhere on the A2 where a load of people found the local chinese takeaway and started a huge feast. Also, there was a massive football match played and we had to keep stopping the traffic on the A2 to get the ball back.

However, the abiding memory is seeing the police helmet on fire on the home terracing and wondering how long it would be before we were let out on the streets to meet South London's finest.

ah..yes, 4-0 at the Goldstone and then the replay up there.

Went with an ex-girlfriend who thought all Millwall fans were neanderthals. When we got there she KNEW it to be true.

We managed to get spat on as we left - and I remember the things being thrown from the houses too.

We were lucky to win at the den. Shame about the final. How things could have been eh?

That sound very familiar......with things thrown at the coach on the way out having already been held in the ground for ages..... as bad as the battle of the den game in 1976?

did mick small play up there , i seem to remeber him getting some shocking abuse when he was taking his time for a free kick , he didnt care though , and took even longer, we got done in the league 3 - 0 and the first 15mins we were battered . I really thought we would blow it. i was 15

I went to that 3-0 game as well f***ing les briley scored for them
then the following season we beat them 2-1.Think digweed got injured in warmup so chivers started in goal until beeney came on and one of their fans attacked John Robinson

Yes I was there!

Most intimidating atmosphere I have ever experienced.

Millwall piled on the pressure, scored and I had the feeling we were going to get hammered, but it never came. When we equalised (Codner) the fight seemed to disappear from them. Robinson scored his first goal from the club.

I remember the Millwall fans setting light to the place and getting on the coach at the end thinking that it could be a bit of a rough ride back through the streets, but could'nt believe that the place was deserted.

The New Den just does'nt have the same intimidation!

Happy days!

oh indeed, I remember thinking that we'll lose, despite the lead, but to beat them on the night aswell, incredible, the home fans setting fire to all sorts, but we didnt care, "we're going to Wembley"

My old man took me to Wembley, but that is another story!

Great day one of the best Albion away days i have ever had.

When Millwall ripped into us for the first 15mins or so i thought we may not hang on to our 4-1 aggregate from the first leg, they were really going for it.

The longer the game went on the more intense the game got for them, they were going F*cking mental - not just a handful the whole three sides of there packed ground!!

I really expected the coaches to get a stoneing but i expect they were booing there eyes out instead.

Barry Lloyd is not that liked for some reason but he did exceptionally well especially that day.

:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Can you remember Mouldy when 20 of their crew tried to take us and we just Laughed and brushed them aside with Gay abandon?

Or did i dream that?.........................Good day out though:cool:

at home
super game.....

super atmosphere

implied and threatened menace

( was that the one some thug ran on and Robinson decked him?)

lots of very unhappy cockney homicidal maniacs loose at the end of the game/throughout the game/before the game.

all in all the best and worst of times.
