Kermorgant would be ok as a last resort but I wouldnt like the idea of paying a big loan fee for a 34 year old

Kermogant is 34! Not sure we need another in his mid thirties.

Why sign a player who is no better than what we already have?

The question for me is whether we are signing a player to make a difference or a player to provide cover. I would suggest Kermogant fits into the latter.

I was disappointed we never went for Blackman. Rhodes is very unlikely.

Not sure I agree with you as I think Kermorgnant is a better goal scorer than we have so would be first choice. Wouldnt want Blackman nor pay the price for Rhodes or McCormack. My view, as I have stated many times, is that we need a man to score the goals to get us up then rethink in the summer so a loan seems the answer.

Then you are going short term gain BG, with no guarantee that he will score (obviously an argument for all signings). The difference with Blackman is not only will he score but he looks dangerous every time he has the ball. He certainly gave us the run around at Reading.

Other than the free-kicks (and we don't seem to win that many around the box), I can't remember Kermogant doing very much against us.

Have to agree it is disappointing we didn't go for Blackman, although I suspect we would have lost out anyway.

Having seen Blackman play a bit more this season due to living in Reading, I am very happy that we didn't go for him.

He goes missing a lot, and despite the great patch at the beginning of the season has never exactly been prolific. At the beginning of the season Reading fans would have been happy to have got £1million for him so most that I know are over the moon to have got the money they have, especially as his goal scoring had started to dry up again.

I completely agree. He may have had a decent game against us and started the season well but his overall goals to games isnt great.

Rhodes won't come south of Birmingham.

He's a full international.

Has he played sufficient qualifying games to automatically gain a work permit. Does Ecuador qualify as an international country to get this dispensation? The Red Tops are saying we will need to establish that he will get a work permit before spending that amount of money which seems sensible.

Good job the tabloids are offering this advice, I doubt our specialist recruitment team would have given it any thought. I'm not having a pop at you BG, it's just the red top rags really get on my tits sometimes

Re: Blackman, my mate who is a Reading fan was keen they accept anything above £1m for him. Described him as a one trick pony who will get sussed out. Agree he was superb against us so I was surprised, but he watches him every week.
