But a midfielder who 36 goals in 48 appearances is better than a striker who doesn't.

Would not worry about that. They are talking about Alex Pato the player Klopp said yesterday they have not and are not signing

Exactly.....hence why I said 'interpretation'. Obviously no idea whether anything else would have prompted them to look at it that way........

This. Corinthians are skint and need to shift to Pato to build their team, but the only team offering to buy him is a Chinese outfit, Pato doesn't want to go there.
