A real staple of Saturday night TV as a kid in the 70's. Donkey's years later whenever there's any reference to politicians like Harold Wilson or Dennis Healey I still think of his impressions................."what a silly Billy".

The other impression that springs to mind was that of rugby commentator Eddie Waring

His show was cancelled in the late 80 s and that was pretty much it for him.

I was one of them too, and also surprised he was only 82, thought he’d have been well into his 90s. But when I was a kid I guess he wasn’t as old as I thought

I was just about to say the same thing, I thought he would have been at least 95. Only 82, crikey, people looked older on the telly in the 70s!
