Mike Parry on 606 - Crap...

I think that this is a good move for 606.. the programme was going down the drain quite fast. 3 shows with different presenters at different times did not work, hopefully Porky will act as anchor for all and show some kind of continuity.
He IS a bit opinionated and controversial in a low level way but that is what he does best.Other than Danny Baker there has never been a halfway decent presenter of 606 anyway.

I used to hate him when he first came on to talksport but after a few weeks i got it !

Hes winding people up with crazy ideas. Its brilliant. I dont really get how people can take his opinion seriously. This bloke suggested jockeys should have side mirrors so they could see behind them whilst racing

Its all done to get more listeners and interesting calls.

As said above he is brilliant at what he is paid to do. Once I'd worked out what he was about on Talksport I used to wait for the poor sods to phone in for a battering. Used to enjoy my Saturday mornings on overtime with him and Andy Townsend. Also as said above got some heated conversation going in the car on the way back last night till he got terminated (radio switched off). Savage was better than expected.

He is a poor man's Danny Baker. Baker started the phone in, and then it was more about fans of football clubs, clubs, rivalry and music. But then media people that don't understand football took it on and now its all about some bloke from Southend that supports Liverpool who wants to talk about some left back and some bloke like Parry or Alan Green talking shit as a result. Its a shame Baker is ill but I can't believe they can't find a proper football fan with a brain to do the show. My rule would be the same as Baker's, nobody really gives a shit about the players its about the culture of football and the humour as a result. Parry, Alan Green and that irritating Chelsea fan who is on the food shows just don't get it because they are self serving and arrogant, unlike Baker who is not.

I download the podcasts as it's the only way I get to keep in touch with what happens on Match days, not just 606 but nearly every football podcst you can imagine. The saturday 606 became a joke when Savage joined, but somehow even he sounded sensible next to that fat shock jock. The guy just picks a controversial subject to get a rise from people who can't see that he is just looking for a wind up. It's cringeworthy listening to people phone up to argue with the idiot, that's exactly what he wants.
When I'm home I will not be listening.
Alan Green is annoying, but at least he doesn't set out to be purposely controversial.
