Sad news coming from Talksport, as presenter and possibly "Britains angriest man" has died.

I always enjoyed his shows, as he would tackle the issues head-on, and was a very good presenter.

Sad news, I'll miss him.

Just far enough away from LDC
I believe he was the first broadcaster to break the news that Princess Di had died. The Press association in common with all media had been told of her death by Robin Cook who was in malaysia but had embargoed it until an official announcement by Buckingham palace.

However the Press Association ran it early and Mike Dickin was broadcasting and saw it on the wires and announced it.

At the time the BBC were aware but couldn't say anything. If you ever see press coverage of the half hour leading up to the official announcement you will see the BBC heavily alluding to bad news without actually saying so.

Very sad when a true talent dies. Particularly so close to Christmas.
