So no mention of the kids playing football, murdered by Hezbollah, that prompted this?
#Jews&Druzedon'tcount

It's mentioned and talked about in the article I have posted alongside from the Times of Israel and is discussed at more length. Here Again.

'Twelve children and youths, all aged 10-20, were killed and 30 more people were injured in the rocket attack on a soccer field on Saturday afternoon. Israel placed the blame squarely on Hezbollah.'

You appear to often comment without reading articles.

I didn't previously comment that Hezbollah deny responsibility for the attack.

(I believe this was also reported in another post on this thread though it now appears deleted to me)

This is very significant news indeed.

The top political leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, who led the Government in Gaza until 2019 has been assassinated by Israel operatives - not in Gaza but at his home in Iran.

Haniyeh was the leading negotiator on behalf of the Palestinians for a ceasefire and has been engaged in diplomatic talks through 3rd parties with Netanyahu’s government since October 2023.

Any chance of a ceasefire or deescalation is suddenly very much jeopardised with his assassination and rather than bring the end of the war closer it could escalate it further - he will be seen as a martyr by Islamic fundamentalist throughout the ME and almost certainly his assassination in Iran will further radicalise hitherto political moderates and infuriate Iran that this should happen on Iranian soil.

It remains to be seen whether Netanyahu will see this as an exit ramp to withdraw but it will certainly put him under pressure from Israeli public opinion to end the war since destroying the leadership of Hamas was one of his main objectives which have now arguably been achieved. It also puts Netanyahu again under the spotlight for the questionably achievable objectives of the campaign in Gaza to ‘destroy Hamas as a group’ when the political leadership of Hamas and its fundraising base are not even in Gaza.
